i love making serious old men deal with spierce's shenanigans
are those sprites for spierce ai generated too? i assume so given that this is an ai art blog but i'm just kind of amazed at how similar it looks to the actual fates style
they are! character reference took care of getting it to look like spierce, but i actually had to fight with novelai a bit on the style, because even with the fates tag specifically, you miiiight notice a little something here:
all those gold accents (and probably even the cravat) are the fault of three houses! which makes sense, since it's one of the more recent games, but that doesn't mean it isn't frustrating—so i had to put three houses in the negative prompt. at 2 (or -2) strength, even.
that didn't fix all of my problems, though. my prompt ended up having to be "official art, official style, 3::fire emblem fates:: [spierce's appearance tags here]" (with the 3:: meaning that tag is at x3 strength), but even THAT wasn't quite there.
it was certainly close, but it was missing something. that's when i went to take a much closer look at the sprites, and i noticed something...
the shadows are this deep maroon-burgundy on light colors.
there's a fair amount of hatching in the shadows.
i wasn't sure if i could get the shadows to look good, but i COULD get the hatching. that's how we got here!
if i decided to remake them again, (which i might, because i love giving myself tedious tasks,) i would try to get the maroon shadows in there, too. for now, though, i'm very content with these!
i know you really only deal in visual art but do you perhaps have any insights on making a good quality ai voice model?
a lot of the same principles of visual art apply to ai voices! make sure your samples are high quality and clear; make sure you cover a wide range of sounds, especially if the voice has an accent; make sure there's very little background noise in your samples; have audacity on-hand for audio editing purposes
my favorite site is elevenlabs! it's pretty cheap and very high quality; this is what i used for spierce's voicelines in the fe14 mod!
here's some examples! converted from wav to mp3 so quality varies
the marriage is REAL!!!
having trouble getting phoebe (my one actual fire emblem oc) to look right in the actual fe style so i'm sitting here like "what if she's the one character who's in a different style"
(manual phoebe / style aware gen / non-style aware gen)
now that spierce is married: son boy support
working out a widdle ref for fe fates spierce because i got way too invested in this mod
we're upgrading the spierce babey
