Be Careful In Whose Lap You Sleep! | May 27th, 2021
As Christians, it is important that we know the dangers of backsliding. In this video, I share some scriptures showing what not to do if you want to stay on course and not fall prey to Satan’s schemes. Food and Healing
Have you ever thought to yourself that when you combine Healing and Food as a hybrid word you create Feeling. Technically speaking it would be spelled Fealing based on my logic there. However, you get the gist. Recently I was at one of my best friends father’s funeral and what resonated with me was all of the food. If you delve into any religion you will see a recurring pattern revolving around food being utilized as part of the healing process when a loved one dies.
Jews sit Shiva in which you pretty much have a Jewish Deli laid out for a week prior to a funeral. Then after the funeral there is another feast. Followed by close friends continuing to cook meals for weeks on end while mourning is taking place. In similar fashion, Christians hold Wakes which also consist of tons of food, family, friends, my three favorite Fs. My mother has a very good friend who has been fighting cancer, and she cooks for her all the time. There is a healing power that exists within the love and warmth of one’s cooking. Its a unique and very thoughtful way of pouring out your emotion for somebody. You always hear about Michelin rated chefs that are world renown due to being able to taste the passion in their cooking.
Food symbolizes gathering and it is something we all have in common. We have to consume it to fuel our bodies. Humans naturally do better in packs. Even introverts like having people around. We wouldn’t be at the top of the food chain without being able to cooperate, and whether its a festive occasion like a graduation or wedding, or a much sadder event such as a funeral, there is nothing better than breaking and sharing bread with those close to you.
