You can choose not to see the sky, but it exists. That’s how Renni Eddo-Lodge responds when somebody tells her they don’t see race. Trying to raise the topic...
Self dx culture is not wanting to get a diagnosis because what if you’re wrong but also wanting to get a diagnosis bc otherwise nobody will believe you
This
self dx npd culture is always dropping hints and implying that you have npd but never outright saying it, so everyone knows you have Special Person Disorder but if somehow it turns out that you were wrong about everything and you don't actually have npd, then it will be everyone else who made an incorrect assumption, not you who was wrong (the fear of being wrong is eternal)
.
self-dx-culture is deciding that you must Never bring up what you are sure you have incase you are actually wrong, which would then make you feel like a liar and the worst person alive

The bugaboo of education: our fear of being wrong
Children are not frightened of being wrong. If you are not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original. By the time they get to be adults, most kids have lost that capacity. They have become frightened of being wrong. We stigmatize mistakes. We are running national education systems where mistakes are the worse thing you can make. We are educating people out of their creative capacities.
