So stoked and honoured to say that I had the opportunity to talk to @kimraluna ’s awesome Be True Brand You peoples about their mindset towards their business last night. We talked being human, brains, roombas and super Mario as we discussed how to press “end game” on self sabotage. It was an absolute pleasure and so much fun. I am so grateful for the opportunity and that I was trusted to be let loose on her group! 😉 I really have so much to thank Kimra for, she has changed my life in a number of ways.

The digital room that she created by way of her Facebook group Freedom Hackers, was the space that I met my best friend, business partner, life partner and love of my life, Ty. My life would look radically different in every single area without that meeting.

Not only that but Kimra’s teachings, programs and tools have been a massive contributor to creating the lifestyle of travel and digital nomadery that Ty and I have been actively living every day for the past 6 months and which allows us to be together as a long distance couple too.

There is no limit to the amount of gratitude I have and feel for these things. Having the chance to give back something special in return for all these things I am thankful for was beautiful. Thank you for everything @kimraluna , you are an awesome blue haired boss lady! P.S. For those of you in business who want to live a life similar to the globetrotting life of adventure and freedom that Ty and I lead, I’d seriously recommend checking out Kimra’s programs and join her group Freedom Hackers. I can’t guarantee you’ll have a freedom hackers love story too but hey when the world is your oyster anything is possible!

The other day I was misgendered for the 1st time in a while. I pass 99.9% of the time, so being referred to as a lady really caught me off guard. It was interesting what happened this time, my thoughts were totally different. In the past my mind would react by trying to find somewhere to lay the blame for this happening. Unfortunately, most of the time it was turned inwards. I would hold myself accountable. Shame myself because surely there must have been more I could have done or this would never have happened. There was an immediate breakdown and analysis. Maybe my hair cut, my clothes, my general appearance, my mannerisms weren’t manly enough. Maybe I wasn’t playing the part of a “man” as well as I should be. Stories like I am not good enough, I should have been doing more etc. I felt angry and ashamed, as if I had betrayed myself. As if there was something fundamentally wrong with who I am. I would contract into myself and hide away. All of this happened in a microsecond.

This time I realised 2 things.
 1) This person did not see ME. And in life, as a human, regardless of being trans or not; not everyone in life is going to see YOU. There will always be people who will misunderstand who you are, will make assumptions about who you are, put labels on you that are not yours and tell you who you “should” be and how to do you. All without ever getting to know who you really are. So, to live a life free of blaming, shaming and guilting yourself, do your very best in your life to make damn sure that you are not one of the people doing this to you. 2) In the moments leading up to it, I was just being me. I wasn’t paying attention to how I walk or whether my face was shaved. I felt totally comfortable and confident in myself and my being me. That felt right to me. So this moment could not change that feeling unless I made it mean there was something “wrong” with me. And the simple truth is, there is never a single thing you ever need to be or do differently in order to be “right”, just as you can do no “wrong” in the business of being you either. In fact, the only real way you can do you wrong is by not being you. So be you 👊🏼 ❤️🦄

In order to be who you really are you have to be willing to let go of all that you are not. The birth of a new you begins with the systematic dismantling and releasing of all that you are not. When you continually let old parts of you fall away and die you will see new parts of you come to life. Each time you will be reborn as a new you. This cycle of our waking death and rebirth is a natural part of life that we spend a lot of our time resisting. I know this because I too have fought this process fiercely at times, even recently, clinging to parts of the old me, old ways of being, old stories about who I am and what I am capable of because it's what kept me safe. The truth is I am so much more and I cannot be all that I am meant to be if I hang on to this old version of me. Every time I have surrendered to the process and was willing to let go of all the things that aren’t me I have witnessed a newer and freer version blossom and come to life in the space that was created. During autumn nature illustrates beautifully this natural cycle as the trees shed their leaves. The wise tree knows that it is not it’s leaves, it is much more than that. It knows that to hang on to it’s leaves would mean certain death to it and that letting go of them ensures a new and better version grows in their place. So every year the tree gracefully surrenders it’s old parts and pieces staying in full faith that there is a promise of new and better to come in the space it creates. Hanging on to all the things that you are not may not mean your literal physical death, but it certainly ensures there is no possibility of life as who you really are. So be like the tree and let go of your dead leaves, your old ways of being and your old stories that do not serve you. 14 months on from my coming out and almost 10 months after starting testosterone I am headed up to London for my first appointment about my transition through the NHS where I'll be discussing top surgery. I am so grateful to have gone through the private route initially because this is how long it can take just for some to get to their first appointment to even start the process off. Some wait longer dependent on the clinic. Some wait longer if they have fears around coming out and showing who they truly are. And some, well some people wait their entire lives and never make a move to be who they really are. The truth is being trans is not that different to being any other human. Yes, the journey to be who we are involves a few more steps and hurdles to jump but ultimately we're just striving to be our most real and authentic selves and to experience freedom in being who we are just like every other human. This journey is not always an easy one and I applaud and support everyone who is on it. Today I am so incredibly proud of myself for having the courage to be me and for continually making choices to move into alignment with who I know myself to be. Transgender or not, at any moment, any one of you can choose to do this too! Please don't wait any longer. Don't wait your whole life to be you.
