I believe that we will all fall short in life. Imperfection is human. We will make mistakes. We will hurt people's feelings and break their hearts. We will fail. You would think that would simply be the end. But life isn't simple, and either is the grace or mercy of God. I think simple things can be beautiful - the messy, difficult and confusing parts though, they hold so much opportunity to come out as glorious. They hold the moments when all that was left to hold onto is trust and faith that hope is truly alive, they bring more kingdom in, they are the lights in vast darkness. His grace is not cheap. It is something to be breathed in so we can breathe out thanksgiving. It is the breath that keeps us going. It is the breath that gives us courage to live radically and love people in tangible ways. It is the breath that someone else will breathe in. Live with great hope today. Act with empathy and compassion - not apathy. The tomb is still empty. Let us not forget that.
