"oh, mate. logan. there's a lot to unpack with logan. i seem to think that every fling, every tryst, every summer romance is the end-all, be-all of love. and yeah, that was no different with her. when i think about logan, i think about how i felt just before she cheated. i wanted to take her home to australia, have her meet my parents... i always wanted her in every part of my life that i could. and i guess she didn't feel the same."

with the semester over, duckie was spending her time on increasingly unproductive hobbies she’d been neglecting during the schoolyear. today, she had her dad’s old acoustic guitar, well-worn and covered in layers of stickers, and was playing happy little covers near the sun deck. “any requests?” she asked the nearest person, squinting with the sunlight in her eye. duckie paused with wide eyes as she quickly realized it was logan, knowing it was too late to pretend she was talking to someone else or that she hadn’t seen her. “oh, hey. uh, how are you?” she asked, fighting the urge to make herself smaller. she never knew what to do when it came to seeing logan.
