The remaining story of Feather Falling

If you've read the most recent update on my AO3, you would know my writers block has gotten the best of me, along with my mental health. I don't want you guys to go without an ending though, since I know how frustrating it is to have a fic you like (or just read out of boredom) suddenly have no updates for the longest time.

So, only if you wish, under the cut, will be the remaining plan I had for Feather Falling. Be warned, it's a wall of text. The askblog will still be up, if anyone wishes to send an ask and let me revive that little side project. But, I hope you enjoy

claps hands oKAY so Nav After chapter 14, returning from the wall with Ellie, would go to Gale to explain things Charles feels something new, a tad of what was in the diner before Nav was snatched he shrugs it off and goes to Dave and Rupert to pass time a few more clues leading to the toppats would be sprinkled through a few more months later, Ellie gets her own place and all three usually hang out

by now they are all close and then they get a call about the toppats, and their space shuttle Nav is terrified, because, well gestures to past trauma of being a toppat but Ellie is more okay with it Charles also is tagged along. its a big mission whole fight happens and such, but near the end, they couldn't stop the shuttle taking off. Ellie has to rescue Charles. that gains his trust and a bit of admiration they fail this mission and later on, after the station would have been more established, rumors of past toppats disappearing within military records and sooner or later? they're targeted Charles dives in to try and get them out of some teleporter laser thing (i didn't get this all planned out, same thing used in VH) but he and Nav get beamed up everyone on the ground start freaking out, two people got snatched gale is VERY protective over his crew, so he starts planning to get them back asap

back up on the station, both are grilled about toppat things, and when Nav finally grows a backbone, they bring both Nav and Charles into a room they think if they threaten Charles, Nav will finally talk because he was the same one who rescued him so? they break one of his wings Nav goes bezerk, yells something out to let them go. Reg comments "once a traitor, always a traitor" and leave the two in the locked room Nav tries to stabilize the wing, which he does, and Charles is a bit dazed. Nav tries to explain he would do anything for the one who saved him from the toppats Charles is confused, because he is trapped again Nav yells that the few months of freedom he had were the best months of his life. best months of his life with him queue the big hug (no kiss quite yet) toppats try to go to the info Nav gave but Gale planned this, letting Nav know of a place where they DID have info, but also can get to fast to defend entire escape i didn't plan yet, but when they escape, both are taken to the hospital Charles wakes up first, and heads around to find Nav they find each other, and go to a vending machine for a drink they have a slow talk back and forth about what they said back on the toppat station when Nav turns to look at Charles, he find him already leaned in to kiss him. A small pause, then accepts the kiss, hand on his cheek Feather Falling end roll credits

There would be an epilogue, Nav and Charles would have a small wedding, after Charles proposes with his trio of feathers. maybe just papers signed and go to his favorite diner with all his friends after

Hey, I like your fanfic of "We all fall down" and was wondering why It's asking for an account now? (I currently don't have one) (P.S. Also really hope we get to see how Chell reacts to Metaton!)

Oh hello!! Thank you, We all Fall Down is a fic I’m really proud of so far, but for the reason I made it only accessible to registered users was because someone thought it would be funny to send some very nasty hate with a guest account. So not only could I not block them, they could do it without consequence.

So I did some stuff to keep my comments clean. On Feather Falling I turned on comment moderation (because that is an old fic) and made the main fic only for registered users. I really wish I could have it open normally, but I had to close it off for my mental health.

As the door opened up to the small apartment, Rupert gently nudged Dave forwards with his wing, and closed the door behind them. Dave took a few steps forward, looking back at Rupert, his own wings tucked in on his back.

“It's been a while since you were here… So there’s a bit of a mess left behind, sorry about that. I never got around to cleaning it- “

Dave quietly slipped off his shoes, stepping to the side to allow room for Rupert to do the same, glancing around the apartment. The same soft green wallpaper lined the walls, the dark bookshelf filled with fantasy and graphic novels, the exact same sofa… Dave wandered over to it, slowly sitting down. As he sank into the cushions, wings folding in behind him, Rupert stepped up, a concerned expression painted on his face.

“ … Dave? Are you alright? “ He carefully placed his hand on Dave’s shoulder, wings slowly spreading. Dave turned to face Rupert, hands going up to rub at his eyes. “ Hey… honey, what's wrong? “ His hands went to cup his face, kneeling down to meet Dave’s eyes.

Dave reached out, hugging Rupert tightly. Rupert, who didn't expect the hug, let out a small noise of surprise, then sighed deeply as he held Dave. After a few moments, he stood up, still holding tightly onto Dave, who squeaked as he sat back down on the couch. They stayed there for a while, Rupert’s wings surrounding the both of them, holding onto Dave’s hand. Dave’s breathing slowed, before looking up to Rupert.

“ … you kept it the same… before I left… “

Rupert blinked. Then chuckled as he pressed a quick kiss to Dave’s cheek.

“ Well, yeah sunshine. It helped me remind myself of you… it’s a bit of a mess though. “

“ I mean… it’s nice…. “ Dave laughed, Rupert letting out a playful huff. He nuzzled Rupert, curling up on his lap. “ Really, though... It’s nice. At first, I was worried you would reorganize the entire place to live alone- “

Rupert’s wings fluttered, and Dave paused. “ Uh, hon? Did… Did I say something wrong? “ He was only answered by Rupert hugging Dave closer, and he squeaked as a result. Rupert loosened his grip, then moved his hands to cup Dave’s face again.

“ Sunshine, you are my light in this world, this place. When you left…. I… “ He sighed, Dave placing his own hand over his. “ You know that meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me. “

“ Meeting you was the same. “

“ Yeah, but, I mean it… really. You helped me through so much, even in high school… I… I just love you. You know that, right? ”

“ Yeah. “ Dave pressed a kiss to Rupert’s cheek. “ I love you too honey. “

Rupert leaned in as Dave pulled away. Dave let out a small noise of surprise, but quickly melted into the kiss. The two stayed like that for a while, each in the other’s embrace. The lights of the city slowly came on outside the window, the noise continuing on as usual, if not a bit louder. Both eventually pulled away, both quite red in the face.

“ … I’ll get dinner started. “

Dave slid off Rupert’s lap as he stood up, and watched as he made his way over to the kitchen. Rupert pulled a few containers out of the fridge, and switched on the stove. Dave slowly started to get up, but Rupert quickly looked over as the pillows shifted.

“ Oh no no hon, just sit down- “ He quickly walks over, softly pushing Dave back down onto the couch. “ You’ve been through so much, let me cook for you- “

Dave sighed. “ At least let me help cut the vegetables- “

“ Nope- I already cut them yesterday. ” Rupert replied, walking back again to sit Dave back down on the couch, then wrapped a nearby blanket around him. “ We can watch a movie while we eat dinner, you can go pick one you’d like. “

Dave huffed, then finally gazed at the TV as Rupert ran back to make sure nothing burned, and he started flipping through the channels, then just swapped to movies. A few TV shows popped up, and Dave’s old favorite appeared at the end of the screen. “ Hey! This still has that office show I like! “

Rupert looked in from the kitchen, the food now dumped onto two plates, both letting off some steam. “ Hm? Oh yeah! Geez, that kinda reminds me of when I worked at that prison, remember? “ He paces over, placing the plate of food with a fork in front of Dave. '' Beef stir fry, you still- “ Rupert didn’t even finish his sentence before Dave grabbed it, shoveling a spoonful into his mouth. He chews, swallows, then groans. Rupert burst into laughter. “ Looks like you still love it like always, hm? “

Dave just stuck out his tongue, wings flapping as a response, before he held out his plate. “ Got some more? “ Rupert smiled, and after pressing a kiss to Dave’s forehead, took his plate back to the kitchen. Dave smiled, turning to look out the window.

… Hopefully, Nav was doing well.
