Outside of birds in general, Elias is definitely a cat person. (He too, likes to cause problems and sleep a bunch in places he shouldn't.)
Bit of worldbuilding for Morrigan's answer: She works in a “animal sanctuary” (one of those shitty zoos/aquariums that don't take care of their animals but here its for people creatures), meant to appeal to the upper class of their city. The sanctuary collects inhuman, most often sentient, creatures to be displayed as entertainment and some experimentation under the guise of rehabilitation and housing creatures that "wouldn't survive in the wild". Elias is a raven avian, which is one of the reasons he was trapped and put in the museum in the first place.
Elias doesn’t care much for his own birthday, he sees it as time wasted on himself where it could be put to better use anywhere else. he doesn’t care much for other’s birthdays either. He’ll play along with the festivities, especially if it’s for a younger creature. There is one incoming character that is very near and dear to Elias’ heart though, and he never misses their birthday. For that one day, it is guaranteed that he’ll drop the feral gremlin attitude, and will dote all over his favorite person.
Morrigan absolutely loves birthdays. She loves the social bustle of it all. She sees birthdays as a way to bring more visitors to the sanctuary. I wanna write up a bit where Morri is all over the place for Elias’ bday, and Elias either bites her in the ass or gets really angsty (or both 👁️👁️). Maybe I’ll try when I get the spoons 👍
