What sorts of things do feathermice eat? Are they pack animals or not? Any stuff about them I'd to hear!

I can imagine they’d just eat seed, grains, fruit, berries, vegetables and sort of stuff and probably bugs, worms and more protein stuff, sort of typical mice would eat. I do have an idea which links to the other question so I’ll explain that in the next bit

Theyre pack animals, they sort of live like rabbits in a big burrow but they act more like crows where many different families all live together and they all help raise their young together. They have groups and individuals with different tasks, such as gathering food to bring back. I like the idea of them having little bags and satchels to put food in but idk if theyd be advanced enough for that but maybe i’ll grant them knowledge.

But even though they’re mainly social animals, some do wander around by themselves. Sometimes its by choice but sometimes they can be rejected by groups. This can either be that their numbers are too high to take any individuals or sometimes theyre just too tight knit and they’ll straight up refuse to take anyone in regardless (i have a little story plot about this which i want to make a comic about eventually). Sometimes theyre alone or in small groups by choice just because they don’t prefer big social burrows or they’re travelling to find a new burrow to settle in.

Also sort of related to groups and burrows, but certain burrows have certain things they collect. Like one burrow might collect feathers and decorate their burrow with feathers and another might collect rocks and so on. I just like the idea of them collecting little things :)

Howdy!! I’ve been seeing your feathermice on my dash a ton, and I really adore the design. Like, they’re such a cool little critter, every time I see one I just wanna squish em /pos (cute aggression style).

I just wanted to ask, are people able to make their own little feathermouse buddies, or are these closed? Totally fine either way, just wanted to inquire!!

Theyre an open species yeah, id love for others to make their own!

Only thing is that i dont have all the worldbuilding down yet so some things could change but the actual feathermouse design probably wont :)
