Okay, Bluesky has an extremely great feature that should've been added to Tumblr a loooong time ago.
Do y'all remember back in the post-porn ban days when TERFs were running rampant on this site? And back in those days, the browser extension known as the "Tumblr Batch Blocker" became an essential tool. Basically, users could curate massive lists of TERFs, and all you had to do was copy and past the text into the extension and it would automatically block every single user on that list?
Okay, those days are over. The Batch Blocker extension is no longer in development, and it no longer works. However, Bluesky took this idea and made it automatic.
Bluesky has this feature called "lists." It's like the old Twitter feature where you could add various users for different reasons. Maybe you want to create an "Art References" list from stock photo accounts that have good anatomy shorts, or maybe you want to create a "Fashion Ideas" list of people who inspire you to dress better.
You can do that on Bluesky, too, but there's an extra button that makes this feature incredible. You can create lists, and other users can see lists, but on top of that, users can subscribe to lists. When you tap "subscribe" you're presented with two options: "Follow Everyone" and "Block Everyone."
What this feature does, is it allows an individual user to accumulate their own "list" of, say, right wind lunatics and Nazis. Other users can then go tap Subscribe > Block Everyone, and, automatically, your account will block everyone on that list. BUT, even better, your blocklist stays up to date! As in, when the original list creator adds more people to that list, your account will, automatically, without your input, block those people too!
It's fantastic!
I've subscribed to a few nazi, right-wing, etc. block lists, and I absolutely love it. This should be a feature on every single social media, but especially Tumblr. If @staff isn't going to moderate this site properly, the least they could do is give us the proper tools to curate a desirable experience.
And while I'm on my soap box, we need a "Block on All Blogs" button. When you block someone on Tumblr, right now, you get the "Cancel" and "Block" buttons. This only blocks the user on your primary blog. We need a "block on all blogs" button that blocks them on all of your blogs. Like yesterday...
There should be a feature in Fallen London that lets the player see which expeditions they’ve already completed. Or like, an actions log so you can see what you’ve been doing. I know I can’t be the only player who forgets what they’re trying to do halfway through doing it.
If the devs see this, please add this, it would be amazing. Thank you.
Tumblr should let you see what asks you have sent a user, when, and their status (rejected, pending, accepted)

Home Lab - Feature Idea
I would like to have automated home lab power down if the power goes out for more than maybe 10-15 minutes.
The components:
NUT Server
Ansible
Python Code (just running on my PyApps server)
The plan is to have a python job that talks to the NUT server and gives an idea of when the power goes out. I need to figure out a confirmation mechanism to avoid false positives.
I then want to use Ansible to trigger the power down since that is an easy way to control the range of systems I have. Proxmox and linux are trivial. You can make it work with Windows. The challenge is Macs. My experience is that SSH has time out issues with Macs when trying to power down sleeping Macs with Ansible. I need to work on that one.
First Step
I put together a basic Python script to read the NUT status. Actually I had an LLM do it (I know; I'm a hypocrite. This is a POC, and I know how to do it.). I didn't feel like figuring that out. The code isn't that interesting. I will setup a polling system and an alert. I need to add this to the code.
Next Steps
I will setup the shutdown plan. I have Ansible running on a Proxmox box that needs to be powered down too. I need to figure out how to make this work well.
Wishing tumblr has a feature to translate the post.
