Hello tumblr! It's been a while! This week I released my first tutorial; Visual Development Guidebook: Design Pipeline Fundamentals for 3D Animation. So many aspiring artists aren't taught how to make real production work in school. This breakdown aims to help aspiring Vis dev artists create real production work for their portfolios, even if they haven't had any real work experience yet. One of the characters I had the most impact on was Fred. In the original comic, he actually has a super power. He can physically transform into a Kaiju. I thought it was weird that noone else on the team has a real super power. They all rely on tech, like Batman. So I came up with the idea that Fred was a bit of a lunatic who made a fire breathing, oil spewing dangerous Kaiju suit he’d fight crime in. I based him on the crazy guys in Big Kaiju Battel and backyard pyros.
