The Efficient Commissioner: No one showed up to the last meeting. I do have the minutes for the meeting before the last meeting. The Director: Alright, read those. The Efficient Commissioner: Alright. 'Minutes of the last monthly Railway meeting, which was held six months ago. A motion was made that the members of the board hold a yearly reunion once a year after the project is over. The motion was defeated when it failed to receive even one vote. The meeting was soon declared a shambles.'

There were many ways one could have described that fateful afternoon at Caligula's. Sweet, enticing, disastrous, shocking. Yet there was one word that would end up decidedly absent from people's recollection of Lord Emerson's Lonely Hearts Club. It was the word "boring."
Whether it be love, a platonic connection or a brand new enemy, each and every participant managed to find someone special at the event — and Lord Emerson wanted to hear all about it.
"Please, before you leave, could you fill out this short questionnaire?" Oswald said, his pink-clad figure blocking your way to the exit. "Your feedback is invaluable to us, truly."
Invaluable, indeed. The last stragglers of the night got to witness a strange rendezvous. Their host was meeting… was that The Efficient Commissioner?
Topping off an evening of unlikely pairings, this one seemed especially out of place. Their meeting was rather curt, The Commissioner seeming eager to leave Caligula's and its rose-coloured drapery behind. She took a cursory look at the feedback Lord Emerson had gathered — stories of love, hate and everything in between. One handshake and a few whispered words later she was off, documents tucked into her brown leather briefcase.
The young lord crashed onto one of the padded benches of the coffee house, letting out a long exhale. The evening had taken its toll on him… but it would all be worth it in the end. It had to be.
[And there you have it! Thank you for everyone who decided to join me in my attempt to make this Feast of the Rose that little bit more festive this year. It was such a joy seeing so many people in the fandom interact with each other as part of Lonelyhearts! Over the next couple of days I will be posting some personal thoughts and statistics about the event, so stay tuned for that. Otherwise please keep sharing your stories, writing and art pieces in the #lelhc tag! While I can't say for sure, I think I would enjoy putting together another Lonelyhearts event next year, so feedback would be appreciated :) I promise I won't sell it all to the Bazaar, unlike some people...]
