My Aesthetic
I missed this yesterday, but my aesthetic is pretty much exclusively plants and dog toys everywhere.

February 2020 Blog a Day - Day 4 Favorite body part (photos encouraged)
Being that this is World Cancer Day and I almost never post photos of myself. Top is me and my hair before (with @puffypie), middle, when I shaved my head during chemo in 2018. Bottom, now with gray hair that’s actually growing in rather brilliantly from a cheap, but clever, $7. haircut I got in Northern Vietnam last year.
I’ve been fortunate to have inherited the genes for good hair which is lucky because I don’t know shit about styling tools/potions/brushes and whatnot. I work from home on a farm so being all fancy isn’t a requirement as the chickens don’t care, and the peacocks are vain to notice.
Being light-haired all my life it was a shock that my hair came in fully dark and gray (it still doesn’t match up the the me inside). I haven’t decided if I will keep it or try something else?
Now that I see the shaved head photo I kind of miss how easy that was - plus empowering — I felt like I was channeling both a lady truck driver and an art critic (but I’d need big jewelry).
A huge nod of thanks to the folks who so normalized shaved heads on women I was rarely asked if I had cancer even though I almost never wore a scarf or a hat. Made the cancer journey that much easier not having to explain.
Wait, is hair a body part...?
February 10: What’s the best way for the people you love to support you when you’re not doing ok?
Leave me tf alone.
Feb 8: Songs that you always turn all the way up and sing along to
All of them?
I suppose if I have to narrow it down:
80′s music
country music
Tom Petty music
February 11: Describe a perfect date
[insert miss congeniality april 25 all you need is a light jacket .gif here]
A long dinner, wine, or maybe even eating at the bar in a quiet restaurant so you can talk and laugh, and then some smooching which will lead to some sex, then we cuddle for a little bit, even maybe doze off, and then he goes home so I can wake up alone, to a “good morning, beautiful” text.
February 6: What’s something you used to be very wrong about? How did you change your mind?
I used to think Stassi Schroeder was the devil herself, but I begrudgingly started to like her around Season 3 or so, and now, on the 8th Season of Vanderpump Rules, I think she is a queen who can do no wrong.

Predictions for the 2020s
I didn’t see the last decade coming, so I’m not sure I’ll be at all good at predicting but here goes...
Things will get worse, then they’ll get better, much better.
Innumerable kids who’ve graduated from schools that have experienced. shootings will join together to dismantle the NRA / reform gun laws.
Climate change will be front and center and bigger than ever
Trump will die, likely of old age (not being anti-Trump, he’s a relatively unhealthy 73-year-old now).
Hopefully a cancer-ending decade, and a cancer-free decade.
We're starting the decade in a dark place, with a pandemic still sweeping across Asia, while also quickly moving around the globe. This may become more common with global warming.
We're redefining our democracy, and that’s scary. At this point just about everything we hold dear feels up in the air.
Self-driving cars will be abandoned, while self-parking cars will become the norm
A colony will be developed on Mars, it will be a disaster
Women will go to the moon, and clean that place up
Marajuana legalized nationally then restricted and taxed to death
Technology will level off a bit, Science will surge forward
Species will continue to adapt or die off as the planet warms
They just found 200 million year old shark teeth in a cave in Kentucky, yet we seem hell-bent on ending our rule on earth in my lifetime, I hope we turn a corner sooner than later, to prevent our own demise.
Until then I plan to travel as much as I can
Live abroad at least some of the decade
28. Things that made you happy this month
Well, I can't remember what made me happy in February... so I'll just look at the last month.
Going to Banff (yes M was there)
Being able to work from home and not losing my job at this time
Given permission to relocate to a safe home for now.
Being driven here by M.
Spending time with my friend N who has more compassion and humor in her pinky than most do in their whole lives. Also crazy smart.
Being around natural light.
My cat Lady Vayda
Heat
Pretty snowstorms (2 of them since I got here) when I don't have to be out in it.
D and C this couple whom have completely adopted me and love me just the way I am and check in with me regularly.
Zoom and gotomeeting apps for video that make it easier to go to meetings. I honestly hate being watched and get triggered if I'm not careful. I can be very agitated during or after but I work at being grounded and okay.
Movies, books, games, streaming services.
Good food.
Quiet time
Reconnecting with S
3 phone calls total with M. We may have talked for over 7 hours today...(Sunday)
