Time to dance
Dancing is an expression of joy,
Or a workout I did when young.
It was releasing energy wildly,
But pulled in tight by classes.
There isn’t much to dance about,
But still I return to it more and more.
No time set aside but randomly taken,
A song comes on and I move.
Sometimes still sitting, laptop pushed back,
Usually jumping from my seat.
All to move, move, relax, let go,
And let my movements jerk or flow.
Who care to perform I want to be free,
So when music declares time
Up I’ll jump into line, taping my feet.
No there isn’t much cause to dance,
Not in this home, these streets,
But I’m making the time
And making it all mine.
