Waiting for my Build-a-Bear to arrive and this is not how I expected to learn the most recent late-stage apocalyptic tomfuckery.

Indianapolis ‘still reeling’ over FedEx shooting that left 8 dead, governor says
Indiana’s governor told members of the Sikh community and others who gathered at a downtown Indianapolis football stadium Saturday to remember the eight people killed in a mass shooting at a FedEx warehouse that he knows their anguish from the attack is far from over. The three-hour event at Lucas Oil Stadium came two weeks after a former FedEx employee fatally shot the eight people, including…

the FedEx shooter was a brony 🤢
You know what actually, I’m making my own post about this.
TW: RACISM, SH//OTINGS, S*CIDE MENTION,
G//NS (if I’m missing any let me know)
The Indianapolis shooting was at a FedEx Ground facility. I work at a similar FedEx Ground facility (although mine is much smaller than most others). The time of the shooting was right around when Outbound switches to Prime shift, aka when the evening shift switches to the people who come in early to prepare for the morning shift. Most FedEx ground facilities have a gate that employees must use IDs to get into, but often times we will prop the exit gate open, or simply use our IDs to let other people into the building because we think we’re being nice and doing them a favor. Most larger facilities will have lockers outside of the gate, where people put all of their belongings, including phones, wallets, keys, etc. as you’re not allowed to bring anything into the building with you, and will have metal detectors and security guards at the front entrance. However smaller facilities (such as mine) don’t require that.
The shooter specifically targeted Sikh employees who worked at the facility. He targeted people in the parking lot first, as there’s no security and no metal detectors out in the lot. How he got into the facility isn’t written in any articles I’ve read, but I’m assuming he either still had his old ID, he grabbed one off of one of his victims, or someone had propped the gate open.
Right before he started working at that facility, back in March 2020, his mother called the authorities on him, saying that he had purchased a gun with the sole intention of pointing it at an officer and getting said officer to shoot him and kill him. He was attempting to commit s*cide by cop. Police confiscated the gun, and because the family said they didn’t want it back, no report was ever filed against him owning any weapons, which is why he was able to obtain the two other guns used in the killings. Not only this, but police found evidence that he had been on white supremacy websites quite frequently. His mother even mentions that he had asked her to turn off the power strip to his computer, as he didn’t want the police to see what was on it.
It’s extremely obvious that this killing was racially motivated, and that the killer was a white supremacist. He chose an easy located to access given what he knew about how the facility worked, and the populated that worked there. This was planned, intentional, and very clearly a racist murder. However, I’ve seen little to no news coverage or posts about what’s happened, and it’s incredibly concerning. For fucks sake, my boss didn’t even tell us until this morning (for reference the killings happened Thursday, April 15th and today is Tuesday, April 20th), and we work for the same company is an extremely similar facility. Almost everyone who works in my facility is a racial minority, including myself. There are very few white people who work here, and they are the minority in the workplace. I’m assuming the situation was almost identical to the facility in Indianapolis. The attack was intentional, made to kill minorities in a place where the killer knew they would be the majority, in a place where the killer knew that the least amount of white people would be harmed.
Please don’t let this tragedy get swept under the rug. It’s an awful event, and the families of the victims, as well as the victims who were injured and not killed, deserve to get all the help they can get. If anybody knows of any gofundmes or donation links for said victims or the families of said victims, please feel free to reblog this and link them so people know where to donate or send help.
Police say the former employee who shot and killed eight people at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis legally purchased the two rifles used in the attack despite red flag laws designed to prevent that
Police in Indianapolis have spent Friday looking for answers after a gunman shot eight people to death and then killed himself. The incident prompted President Biden to call the nation’s gun violence incidents a “national embarrassment.” The bloodshed stunned a city that's been hard hit by gun violence, and its mayor is calling for national action.
