DAY 1030
Every once & a while, a regret just appears before me, almost like it was calling out & waiting for me to find it.
It was November 2nd, just so we're clear. And I guess there was some kind of late Halloween gangbang going on at St. Thomas or something. Or maybe this Raphael mask had been there a couple of days.
I don't know.
Regardless, it was just sitting on the air station at the SuperAmerica. And I regret seeing it. In the same way I regret seeing a lost shoe in the snow or a random scarf hanging on a doorknob.
Upon closer inspection, I realized that the nabob who owned this had a bullom head that had snapped the elastic band holding it together.
Again, I don't know. Just made me sad, that's all.
Maybe it's because Raphael was always my favorite turtle.
I always dug his salad tongs.
I mean, sais.
Or maybe it's because I'm such a old fart that I think about student loan money being wasted on a mask that probably was the best part of this turd's costume.
No way in hell he looked this rad.
Yeah, that one was a slam dunk of a regret. And so was THIS one today.
I think I did one on Kinko's not that long ago. But the hits just keep on coming. This one's dialing in a little bit more than the last one though.
I regret their fucking system for USB drives. It's about the most antiquated shit ever.
Don't make me ask, please. Isn't it bad enough that there are mental midgets in every direction, who can't even operate your copiers?
This woman (man?) struggled with this thing like she (he?) was solving a trig equation.
The USB thing. Apart from being total shit, somebody should've worked on the user experience before putting it out on the floor.
It's fucking bogus. I mean, who needs touch-sensitive buttons anyway, right?
And these?
They lead you to the exact same fucking screen.
BTW, Kinko's, you need to work on your semantics.
Although I guess when you go all plural on me, you've made your point. Since this screen tended to stare at me for an average of about five minutes.
What it comes down to is this: Don't try & sell me an outhouse & tell me it's the Taj Mahal.
It just makes me wanna...
GRRR! GAAAA!! GRRR-AAAAAHHH!!
Lastly, we did a 3 pm matinee today.
This dude named Jeremiah showed up.
He was a walk-up, just passing by, asking what was going on. Danielle, who was running box office, told him & he asked how much it was to get in.
"Pay what you want," she said.
BAM! Dude threw down $2 & walked in. He was smiling the entire time, enjoying the hell out of being there. And we were glad to have him.
Here's where the regret comes in. I regret judging a book by its cover.
A quick description would go as follows:
• Black hipster type • Face tats • Slightly intimidating
I saw him out on the street after the show. And since we shared an interaction during it, I called out his name. We talked for about 15 minutes & he turned out to be a really cool dude.
Taking classes at Art Institute, making his way in Minneapolis.
He gave me his card. And you know what? I'm looking him up. Because he's my favorite walk-up so far.
Plus, he's from the Dirty. And we Southern boys need to stick together.
