Now for Queens Of The Stone Age’s actual sophomore album, their 2001 release Rated R (out of order because Apple Music only has the 2010 DX release). This was a natural progression from their debut, expanding upon their established soundscape and delving deeper into what they were capable of. Josh Homme nails both the conventional vocal work and falsettos yet again, naturally sliding between them, and overall the album has a greater emphasis on the mids and lows to balance with this. Great album. Highlight tracks include Feel Good Hit Of The Summer, The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret, Monsters In A Parasol, and I Think I Lost My Headache. Available on iTunes and Spotify.
