Nico’s mouth pops open in surprise. Normally he prefers to take care of himself, and he normally insists that he is capable of such things, but it’s hard to make that claim when the band of rogue Cyclopes was there one moment and gone the next. And if he is honest with himself, if Thanatos hadn’t appeared, there is a good chance Nico would have been seeing him anyway, but in a more permanent sense.

The dissolving monsters turn slowly to dust as Thanatos turns around and Nico can’t help but think how cool he looks. “Thank you.”
