The purge which must not be named
hey guys,
As is clearly obvious, I’ve been really absent from tumblr for the last 6-9 months. Tumblr became a harder and harder platform to keep up with, especially as my focuses began to narrow down to twitter and instagram as life got busier.
There’s a lot of recent artwork on my twitter and instagram that never made it to Tumblr. If you’re at all interested in continuing to follow me and my work (and both twitter + insta are much easier at keeping up with the community and comments T _ T) then I’m still active and kicking on those two sites!!
My username is the same as it is on here too (but I’m hoping tumblr still vaguely allows hyperlinking so here: https://twitter.com/felidadae https://instagram.com/felidadae/
at last, a sorta tutorial!
This is honestly a very loose, general rule of thumb when you’re considering how to put together a drawing - take everything I’ve said with a grain of salt (and a dash of your own experience), because composition and flow is super subjective
this is just some shared personal tips based on my own learning - but I hope it helps anybody who might be struggling n_n
Fanbruary day 2 out of ??? (gonna keep this numbering still no commitment)
Today I drew @felidadae OC Diego, I hope I made him justice.
I have followed them from fandom to fandom since the jeanmarco golden years, wow it’s been a few years... And while their art was already awesome back then the way they have improved since has been amazing!
Ok funny story time!
I actually “met” them once! And the quotes on that met are deserved. In the last year (years?) of high school me and a friend we’re obsessed with their art, but for uni i went abroad to study animation. So one random day i’m on the bus and see this person and turn to my friend (different friend totally clueless to all of this) that person there looks a lot like a super cool artist i follow on tumblr, she was like you should totally say something and i was immediately no way, they are probably from the US and I would simply die of embarrassment when it turns out that it wasn’t them. So i didn't do anything... STUPID ME! Fast forward like 2 months and one of my friends from japanese lessons posts a pic of her and her housemates, and as a joke i show this pic to my friend who knew about hachi/felidade “look at this person they look so much like hachi!” and my friend was like “you idiot! that doesn't look like hachi.. That IS hachi!”
So that was a hilarious coincidence, turns out they were going to the arts uni next to mine. Too bad i was too much of a coward to say anything even though i new 3 of their friends/housemates. xD
OK story time over! And if you skipped story time that’s fine but please check out their art! It’s really pretty and you won’t regret it!
