this conversation was inevitable from the moment the team had looked around and really processed what they had just been shown, what felassan would go on to confirm despite all their incredulous doubt: the elvish people were truly fade-born. spirits. they were all spirits.

“well...” khima begins to hedge, trying to find a good way to say it.

uh, i'm definitely not, davrin had said immediately as side-eyes began to shift, bellara nodding rapidly beside him. sounds like that old bullshit the imperium used to spread around. just propaganda.

and felassan had said, in that same not-really-casual voice he's using now: not just propaganda, i'm afraid. i made my own body in that way.

somewhere out there are the perfect words, the ones that will let them both understand each other instantly and not hurt either of them, and khima wants those words to materialize for them now, but they don't. there's just the awkward and uncertain truth. “well, uhm, yes, i — a little. i don't understand how... how, you just, you take it, and...?”

it's hard to look at felassan right now, so they keep on washing at the dish in their hands, even though it's spotless. they'd known this moment was coming when felassan had stayed behind to help them, and as they'd gathered the dishes several fleeting hysterical thoughts had come and gone: were you a spirit of — of cleanliness? tediousness? is dishes what you really want to be doing all the time? should i make that your job?

oh i think it's fair to say solas wants to believe he could easily tell someone to let him go, considering his whole ... "my mistake, my lone responsibility" complex he has going on that forcibly removes those close to him (coughcoughweaponizedguiltcomplex), but i think we all know that solas equally would willingly put himself through a loop 500 times as much as he wishes someone would do it for him

She's telling the person to let her go. She doesn't think she's worth it. She wants her loved one not to have to go through the suffering of losing her again and again and again and possibly losing their mind trying to save her. It's okay. She's just one person. They have her blessing.

I try to think of any words that come even close to describing the amount of admiration I have for you, and lemme tell you it is a struggle. I've said before that you do this wonderfully profound job of portraying emotion in your writing, and I am as in awe of it now as I was the day I first followed you.

you just bring so much tangible life to leon. he's so nuanced, he experiences so much growth, and it brings me so much joy to read your meta and threads and feel like I'm on that journey with him. I love how emotional he is, both internally and externally, and how dedicated he is to his friends and loved ones. I love that he tries to shield himself from the world, but when given the opportunity to lower his guard, he will make the first move. I love that he knows what he needs for himself and won't compromise on his boundaries. I love that all of these things tie into who he is at his core and how he's been shaped by the tragedies of his past.

do you even know what a delight it has been getting to write and plot with you? do you??? because if you don't, this is me telling you that not only are our interactions a delight, but YOU yourself are as well!! and you'd best not forget it!

and felassan . oh my GOD , that man . i thought canon characters were off limits and you TRICKED me with him , via !!! now i’m irrevocably in love with YOUR interpretation of him , specifically . you took a character that had hardly anything concrete to work with in canon and you fleshed him out to the point of making him something SOOO much more dynamic than he appears . and when you write him ? i can feel his energy through the words : how centered and graceful he is despite all he’s been through . how much love he has for the people around him , how bright he is despite not needing to enter the room in a flash the way leon does . subtle , gentle , yet POWERFUL . i love how you play around with what lingers so much deeper than the sarcasm and the terrible jokes , and how you’ve weaved in his npc’s to flawlessly demonstrate WHY he does things the way he does them . to illustrate the level of pain he’s endured and still keeps moving through . that takes an immense level of talent , and it’s that talent that made me want to read tme in the first place ! and i’m truly glad i did because i really think you write the Perfect continuation on his character .

BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE !!✋ i love felassan but you know what else i love ? YOUR creative touch . i’ve spent the last few weeks getting to know cardamomt and eirlana and i can’t even tell you how Inspired i’ve been to create and flesh out my OWN characters even more since . it shocks and astounds me that card in particular has lived Exclusively in your head , and yet he is already such a profound and unique interpretation on the wol’s journey . i cannot even TELL you how much i secretly hope he finds his way to his own rp blog in the future , because i think he’s 100% worth sharing with the rpc , and everyone else in here who’s ffxiv brained like me NEEDS to meet him imo .

and eirlana ??? my beloved hof / inquisitor ???? the theological niche that a temple-keeper of the dales filled during the kingdom era is one that more or less fell out of practice in the dalish diaspora, with the exception of certain festival rites and individual practices surrounding a clan's keeper. they were ministerial officials in an organized religious institution and held, indirectly, very influential government offices. but most importantly they were also considered to be the evanuris' representatives in the waking world, in a very literal way. while they acted in their god's name, they became a fragment of that god.

ameridan and telana were both beneficed priests of the evanuris — dirthamen and falon'din, respectively. the relationship between these two temples was abnormally close. they were effectively operating as one combined temple in almost all aspects except their most closely hoarded secrets. as the twin gods could not be mentioned in the same breath without the other, so it often was with the keepers of their temples. this bond was on particular display with ameridan and telana's marriage; they were a favorite choice for joint rites, and it was felt that they represented their patrons most especially strongly because of their own dedication to each other.

ameridan and telana were not immune to this perspective, and for a man as passionately religious as ameridan is....

tl;dr i'm not saying that he and his wife roleplayed as dirthamen and falon'din, but i'm also not saying they didn't roleplay as dirthamen and falon'din.
