Marinette punched in the digits 15 and hit the call button.
“Marinette?” Tikki’s voice sounded so tiny. “Marinette why is Plagg—”
Marinette made herself ignore Tikki and respond to the operator with a level voice. “There’s been an accident.” She made herself look at the street sign. She rattled off the street name calmly. “I don’t know what happened—” she couldn’t say Ladybug had fucked up her aim and yanked a person right off a roof, she couldn’t, secrecy was important for the kwami even if Marinette wasn’t going to be Ladybug again after this, not with what she’d done, “but there’s a boy lying injured in the street. His leg is bleeding heavily and he doesn’t seem to be conscious.”
“I’ll send an ambulance,” the person on the other end said after a short pause. “What else can you—”
Marinette ended the call. There wasn’t anything else she could tell them.

Miraculous side effects! Miraculous side effects! Miraculous side effects! Hell yeah, newest chapter starts in on one of my favorite tropes! Alright, I’ve rec’d this fic before but refresher. I’d call this a the Marinette’s anxiety is turned up to 11 at all times fic. She just continually does not have a good time. It’s told entirely from Marinette’s perspective and thus lends itself a bit to the unreliable narrator as she tunnel visions on her perspective and explanation for things and is very good at convincing herself of how things are but you can also see glimpses of that maybe not always being the full truth. She also has a lot of doubt and self hatred in this that from the outside really isn’t earned but she’s so caught up in her own head (and is an anxiety riddled teen) that she has a very hard time seeing that.
Warnings: there is graphic body horror and death in this one, I shrieked a little when listening to the Reflecta chapter (like oh my god it gets bloody), the akuma are more like horror monsters in this one (basically Marinette is actively traumatized every fight).
