Of course, we can’t have a Minion without Gru. Gru was a very interesting character to create, primarily because I had difficulty deciding if I wanted to sculpt a new head with clay, or paint his face on a standard head. The latter worked out incredibly well, as I used a common design and only had to paint Gru’s nose onto it. LEGO usually doesn’t feature noses on their minifigure heads unless they are supposed to stand out, as Gru’s does. I’ve also included a freeze-Ray similar to the one he uses in the films, but at some point I might update it to make it actually resemble what it looks like in the film. The scarf is a repainted version of Jay’s scarf in The LEGO Ninjago Movie minifigure series. I had originally planned to use it for a custom of the Fourth Doctor, but considering how complex his design is, that isn’t happening anytime soon.
