Exceeded My Limit.
It was a very unexpected experience happened to me last May 5th, Tuesday, while having my night shift at our work place. Just before that duty, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and encountered abdominal pain, a feeling of nausea and headache. I slept all day and ate in intervals. And by 6pm, I felt quite good compared to what I've felt that morning. So I still managed to come and work that night. At around 2am, while doing the nursing stuff during night shifts, again I felt that severe abdominal pain that gave me cold sweats so I asked my junior duty to gave me some iv drugs for pain. After a few minutes, no more pain in my abdomen but I can't barely breathe and my both hands gave me muscle cramps. That immediately caught the intention of my dutymates so they wheeled me to the nursing office because I said just a short rest will help me recover. But my nursing supervisor said I should be brought down to the emergency room the moment she saw me. She described me pale and needs immediate intervention. When the nurses and doctor examined me,80/50mmhg o2 sat of 85%, 110bpm and 28rr. That really shocked me. Just after 5mins with o2 support, muscle cramps dissapeared and I can breathe normally. The laboratory results showing hypokalemia and the impression of the er doctor was neurocirculatory aesthenia r/o electrolyte imbalance. It's hard for me to admit, but I already gone beyond my limit. I was so abusive with my health this past few days without considering this very humid weather. I am sorry Lord, I totally forgot to take care of your temple. Even nurses need some rest.
