Dani was the poor little rich girl. She always had everything she could ever want, but was never truly happy. Her father, though loved her dearly, ran Norton Hotels, a multi-billion dollar hotel chain and was away from home constantly. Her trophy wife mother, never seemed to care all that much. As a result, Dani got validation anywhere she could, typically in meaningless relationships. One of those was with Gabe Desai, a pretty boy who was dating another girl. Dani knew being with Gabe would get her mother’s attention, so she set her sights on him. And after a bit of fighting she finally got him… and a child. Unfortunately, Gabe didn’t want a child at 17, so he left her, leaving Dani all alone raising her daughter, Annabeth

Despite not having an actual father growing up, Beth did have Zach, Dani’s best friend, and more recently: lover. Dani is currently living with him and excitedly waiting for an engagement ring. Annabeth, now 7, excitedly calls Zach “Dad” and loves Wonder Woman and everything that sparkles. Although Dani’s personal life is going well for the first time in her life, her career is a bit all over the place. She works with her former enemy, Cori Cooper, for their styling company, but she is about to go back to college to get her business degree to eventually inherit Norton Hotels from her father.

Leah has had a difficult life to say the least. She grew up with an incredibly abusive father, and, unfortunately, once they left, the problems didn’t stop for Leah. She was severely depressed, and couldn’t seem to control her own mind. She had trouble sleeping, she was withdrawn and depressed. Her sense of reality was warped, and was often paranoid over nothing. Her mother and brother had no idea what was going on. Figuring it had to do with the trauma she endured from her father, Leah—along with her brother—was put in therapy, where it was found that she had schizophrenia. The diagnosis was hard for 16 year old Leah, but trying to live a normal life was almost harder. She wanted nothing more than to be happy and normal like her peers at school were, but getting there was a mountain to climb.

X PRESENT X:

You would never know about Leah’s past just by looking at her. She’s an energetic, stubborn, bright young woman who wants nothing more than to be happy. She’s slowly, but surely getting there. Although it took her several years, a few breaks, and more than a few major changes, Leah finally got her college degree in computer science, and is now working for a small start up. For the first time in her life, Leah feels like she has stability, and that she can be well. At the moment, she’s not looking too much for a relationship, as she’s happy where she is in life, and she struggles to trust new people in her life, due to her past and her mental health issues. She knows it will happen eventually, but love isn’t at the top of her priority list.

Genevieve had always been a hard working person with every task given, and school? Forget about it. It wasn’t until college and Med School that she actually broke a sweat, and even though this may be empowering, it didn’t leave much space for friends and boyfriends. Her first boyfriend being her current husband and she wouldn’t trade that for the world. Though reluctant at first, they had a beautiful daughter named Iris—she was certainly a surprise, but the most loved present in the Scogin household.

The present has not been kind to Gen. She’s suffered a miscarriage due to the stress of a woman that would stalk her husband and her family; insecurities getting the best of her; grief; guilt from being depressed and not having the energy to do much with her family. It’s been a  rough present for the psychiatrist. However, she studied this, she’ll be okay… right?

A Malibu native with a smile like a ray of sunshine, Kylie isn’t like your typical millennial. She was raised to understand and respect the value of the dollar. To clean up after herself, be kind to others, and most of all, self-respect. Though these traits are lovely, she finds it hard to keep a guy when she can keep it in her pants and he can’t. One too many heartbreaks have made the kind girl skeptical of love and she’s definitely not looking for it. However, being as kind as she is, Kylie isn’t opposed to friendships. She’s always loved making friends.

Going to school and working at a busy bakery is hard enough as it is, but when Kylie has free time she tends to volunteer her time at the animal shelter. Her love for animals making up for how lonely she can feel sometimes. Though she knows she can make it on her own, she wishes she could find someone with her same morals and ideology. Until then, she drowns her thoughts in baking and makes something beautiful out of her intense emotions.

If there was a category for the biggest bitch in The Malibu high school yearbook, Cori would be in it. But it’s not all her fault. Being a billionaire isn’t always easy. What with parents showering her with presents instead of attention… wouldn’t you feel entitled too? However, you live and you learn. Corinne got hers hard with the death of her mother. She coped with unhealthy drug-related ways and had since refrained from using again after her long visit to Rehab. She endured a lot of therapy, detoxing her body from the traumas of her life—learning coping skills, and getting better for herself. Of course, her high school sweetheart Kevin kept her grounded and down to earth as well.

X PRESENT X:

Now married to her high school sweetheart, Cori is a lot warmer. She owns a closet styling business that also dresses people for major events and has managed to dress people in the likes of Grammy, Emmy, and Oscar award winners with her partner in crime Daniella Norton. Things were going well until a setback with her husband and she now works from home and comes in for special clients only until her husband is better. They’re waiting on having children and this, in turn, makes Cors anxious to start a family with the love of her life.

Although she is incredibly close with her father, Addison cannot say the same about her relationship with her mother. Her mother, when she was present at all, was mean, ignorant, and cruel. That, combined with terrible friends and unresolved mental health issues, resulted in Addison developing many destructive behaviors, including a drug habit. After years of being held hostage by her addiction, she finally got clean. She went to college and got a business degree and opened up her own bakery, Oh, Crepe. She focused all of her energy on the bakery, pouring her heart and soul into the business, leaving very little time for a social life, but she didn’t mind too much. However, about a year after opening the doors to Oh, Crepe, she met Andrew Campbell in a bar, a man she ended up marrying and having a son with.

X PRESENT X:

Not long after the birth of her son, Addison was in a car accident, an accident that resulted in a drug relapse. After a month and a half in rehab, she is just trying to get her life back on track. She is struggling to forgive herself for almost ruining her marriage and her life, but she is doing everything in her power to prevent herself from relapsing again. Whether It be going for long runs to run off the cravings, or pouring herself back into her bakery, going to therapy every week, she does everything she can to keep her mind of off drugs, and on recovery and her amazing family.

THE CARETAKER

Marie and Adam Bishop had been planning to have another baby. The couple already had their two lovely boys, Philip and Charles, but they were hoping their next one would be a girl. It wasn’t long for Marie to get pregnant with her third child and in July 1989, their wish came true. The little bean was born 2 weeks earlier than intended. They named her Thalia which meant “to blossom”.

Thalia never thought of being a doctor until she understood what her mom’s job was. She was at awe what her mother could do. In her little eyes, her mother was a superhero and she wanted to be one as well. It wasn’t long before she got her first little doctor back filled with all instruments a doctor would need to help her patients. All day she was a pretend doctor and her patients were her toys and often times her older brothers.

As she got older, she was certain that being a doctor was something she wanted to pursue. It was her dream to help people in need. She wanted to make sure the sick were taken care of and were getting better. She’s always pushing herself to do better.

Now that she’s a resident at the Medical Center, she’s been so grateful for the opportunity that was given to her.

T H E PERFECT S T O R M

Once upon a time, in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 13th, 1989, Scarlett May Grey was born. Being an only child, she was incredibly spoiled. She got everything she wanted from her parents. She thought they loved her, but they didn’t. All they wanted to do was keep her busy and out of their hair. She took advantage of their hatred when it came to her high school years. Entering high school, she was known to be one of the biggest party girls you’ve ever seen. Keeping up high grades and staying at the top of her class, she was all about the multiple hook-ups, drugs, and drinking more than she can handle. After seeing her attend multiple raves and parties, you would never know how she truly felt. In the house, she was the princess who always got her way, but in school, she was ripping her family name in shame.

When it came to outside of the house, Scarlett was definitely another story. Continuing on her rebellious behavior, she graduated at the top of her class and attended New York University with a full ride. Her freshman year of being a lively Bobcat, she stayed her party self. Angry at her parents, she knew she had to do something drastic. After a random hook-up, she fell fell pregnant in no time. She was only eighteen and thought this was the best way to get back at her parents. Not knowing anything, she ran to one of her party friends and they helped her throughout the pregnancy. Finishing her first semester with straight A’s as a freshman, she dropped out of school and lived with her friend for the remainder of her pregnancy.

At the age of nineteen, Scarlett gave birth to a beautiful, sweet, lovely baby boy and named him Sebastian, Bash for short. After holding her baby for the first time, she knew she had to keep him. For the first few months, she, her friend, and her friends family took great care of Bash and she couldn’t be happier. She was a teen mother who was making it in the world. Attending online classes, she thought she was going to be okay, but everything went downhill in the matter of hours.

Hearing about an epic party, Scarlett knew she had to be there. Finding out her friend or friend’s parents were going to be at the house, she decided to take Bash to the party. Arriving, she set him on a random couch before going into the kitchen and taking many shots. She got wasted that night and still can’t remember a thing to this day. Waking up in her room, she went to find Bash, but he was nowhere to be seen. Child Services has taken him away and she was never going to see her son again.

Critically damaged from this experience, Scarlett had to go through major AA meetings and counseling, go back to living with her parents in Atlanta, and depression. Years went by and she’s been slowly getting better. Graduating from the University of Georgia in business, she spent years building her own restaurant. At the age of twenty-five, Magic City in Downtown was open for business. Now at the age of twenty-six, she has changed for the better. Her personality took a huge turn and she’s now a lively, friendly, easy-going woman who would do anything to help anyone at any given moment. She is passionate about her business, her story, and helping other people not make the same mistakes she did.
