“dan’s not even feminine he just wore a nun costume” i’ve seen this said a few times here and elsewhere and it always annoys me a bit cause yeah i agree i’m not gonna claim he’s feminine cause that’s reductive and too black and white but i mean have you ever thought MAYBE there’s a reason the man who famously dealt with internalized homophobia and toxic masculinity for most of his life might not be fully as openly feminine as he wants to? idk i definitely see his interest in expressing femininity but things that hold you back don’t magically disappear once you come out and they’re actually very slow to unlearn/overcome. i think sister daniel for example is a huge step and means something deeper than just dressing up. i just don’t get why people are so quick to dismiss his femininity. and again, being feminine doesn’t mean you can’t also be masculine. also i guess it depends how you would even define these terms but i guess im mostly talking about fashion here since it’s where the whole conversation started
