Old piece I never uploaded. Did this when I was research assistant to a professor who does work related to feminicide. It is still a crisis for women in border cities in particular Juarez. The women who are targeted are typically women with indigenous features (brown skin, black hair). One if the biggest things that always stuck out within the research was that violence towards women is enabled by economic, political and cultural institutions and individuals, which is why there is an "in" within the word "feminincide" to implicate the state and the individual in this violence, as opposed to "femicide", which is merely a definition outside of any context.
