i think its interesting to read how radical feminists reacted to butch women in the 70s(ofc not all of them were like this some of them were butches themself) because the main lesbian sepratist idea was that since the patriarchy was the 'natural order' of things, the only solution was to compleatly sepparate from men. they also somehow saw butch women as traitors to womenhood who had such bad internalized self misoginy that they were like men in order to be men. and hence most butches were banned from lesbian spaces.
