what is wrong with the people you work with they sound like serious crybabies??
That would be exactly what they are. I will admit a bit of fault in that I probably seem stand-off-ish in trying to distance myself from socializing, but all of their issues are entirely on their end. How am I supposed to fix their insecurities?

You know, it's funny that you mention that aspect. Because we had a male "problem coworker" for two years that did nothing but terrorize our office and instigate drama--there was even documentation of it--and the "team lead" and my boss did nothing to stop him.
So yes, I agree. If I were a man, this would not be happening.

I would get it in writing from the boss, “I am not at work to work but to socialize.” Because yeah, that’s BS. Little Miss “The World Is Out To Get Me” wouldn’t last long in an office I run. Door is shut? = Work is being done. *rolls eyes* grrrrr
I'm going to need you to come to Georgia and act as my defense attorney. Because no amount of reason or logic is working when I go before my judge and jury here. And I'm at a point where I've given up trying.
Like I've said my peace and my boss has rebutted, and the fight is no more. Right now I'm sequestered in my office. Still. Because I honestly do not know how I am supposed to interact with these people. If I talk too much, I don't get anything done (and the team lead accuses me of being too "familiar" with people). If I do not talk to them, I am unapproachable and bullying.
I literally cannot win. :\
