Muse A leads very normal, borderline boring life. This is by choice. She likes to keep things simple and drama-free so she can focus on studying without having to deal with everything that comes with an exciting life. In fact, she's so determined to keep her life stress-free and simple, that she even turns down an opportunity to participate in an exchange with a school on the other side of the world.
Her roommate, however, is nothing if not adventurous, so she signs up for that exchange the second she hears about it. And that's how six months later, A finds herself sharing her living space with someone who may as well be from an entirely different planet.
Character B is A's polar opposite in every possible way. She loves meeting new people and seeing new things. She craves adventure and new experiences, and she hopes her new roommate A will help her out with that.
B is an actual alien (or a witch, or a vampire, or any other sci-fi/supernatural being). A thought having a crush on an exchange student who'd only be in her life for a semester was bad enough, but this honestly takes the cake.
A and B do not start things off on the right foot. They may be roommates, but they kind of immediately hate each other's guts. The fact that one particular fight turns into a make-out session doesn't change their mutual hatred, but it does make things even more awkward.
