Back on my Femya hyper fixation
So I was thinking, I think Sanemi would spy on Genya’s love life a lot because he is TERRIFIED of her ending up in the same situation as their mother, trapped with a horrible man, so he’s overly critical of everyone who wants to get with her to the point where he will never really see anyone as good enough, he may say that he wants to pick out a husband for her, but he’s so scared of her being hurt that he would never be able to pick someone, always finding a reason to say they’re not good enough
And a funny idea I got from this, is Tanjiro wanting to prove himself to Sanemi, and Sanemi struggling to find reasons to say no to him, because let’s be real, Tanjiro would be the perfect model husband, Sanemi genuinely struggling to find a reason to not accept Tanjiro but looking desperately for one because he doesn’t like Tanjiro is hilarious to me
And even if Sanemi begrudgingly admits that he’s a good option, he’d give Tanjiro a very vivid and violent shovel talk and Tanjiro would just be like “okay :D” like he’d probably just let Sanemi beat him up if he hurt Genya
First of all I’m so sorry for not responding to this sooner!!! As much as I love having people in my inbox I’m just unfortunately slow to answer.
I can totally see Sanemi giving Tanjirou some of the most outlandish challenges to prove his worthiness of Genya’s hand and marriage thinking no man can ever complete said outlandish challenges. Ranging from cleaning the house top to bottom (that one was just silly on Sanemi’s part to request) to asking Tanjirou stereotypical man things like “do you even know how to fix a car should it break down?” Which means Tanjirou goes to an autobody shop and gets taught the basics and more on how to get a vehicle running if it breaks down. He comes back stinking of oil and dirty but is like “I do now :D” and Sanemi just…. Fucking groans and rolls his eyes 😭 while Genya is preening in the background.
I think it would be funny and sweet should Sanemi sarcastically tell him “go find my mothers ring that she pawned to pay our builds” and Tanjirou just fucking??? Does it??? He somehow manages to track the ring down to another town or two and he brings it back and presents it to Sanemi and he’s like. “Shit. Fuck. Okay, Genya has always talked about wanting that ring. Shit fuck come on man—“
And Tanjirou gets his blessing to marry Genya right then and there (with the added violent shovel talk being that if Genya is ever in a state where she needs to pawn the ring cause Tanjirou isn’t taking care of her he’ll take her away and knock his teeth out, or worse.) 💚🙂↕️
