FenCon 2022 AAR

TL:DR: Had a blast, wore myself out, and have no regrets! This year was the debut of the NTTM both and cooperative and it went really, really well. FenCon last year was my first experience with this con, and on a whim I’d gotten a table to commit commerce, which also turned into having friend’s books and wares on that table. I’ll be out of pocket all weekend, in Irving, Texas at FenCon. A small literary SFF con, I’d attended last year and had a lot of fun. This year I’m going back, and there will be even more fun! My FenCon 2018 Schedule

Hey folks! My next convention is in Dallas, Texas from September 21-23. It’s a science fiction/fantasy convention named FenCon. I’m excited — it’ll be only the second prose-focused con that I’ve participated in professionally!

Here’s my schedule for the show.

Saturday, September 22

11-11:30 AM: Autographing in the Dealer’s Room

Sunday, September 23

11 AM-Noon (Trinity VII Room) The Mythology and Psychology of Characterization Mythology gives us character archetypes that resonate with readers because they consciously or subconsciously recognize them from works throughout recorded history. Psychology gives us other ways of understanding character types we see in real people, what decisions people make and why they make them. 

3-4 PM (Trinity VII Room) Perils of Writing in More Than One Genre How do you do it?  Write a great vampire book, then switch gears and write a steampunk novel. Then do a short story for an urban anthology collection. Do your genres ever cross the streams?

Going to Fencon 2016

Hi guys! I’m going to FenCon, a science fiction convention in the Dallas Fort Worth area of Texas. I’ll be playing a whole lot of music as special guest and teaching a yoga class. Also,  I’ll be on a panel with a band called Triskelion playing some intro to filk music for kids. It’s going to be great fun!
