Remus hadn’t been sure what he was going to do when he saw Fenrir again. He lived in anticipation and dread of the moment, and each moment it drew closer, he knew it was not going to end well. Fate would have it that he didn’t even mean to run into him when he did, but he was walking past the Three Broomsticks when he caught a glimpse of him and stopped dead in his tracks.
He waited, unseen, across the street for Fenrir to finally emerge, and followed along after him as the older man walked down the street. His wand was in his hand before he knew what he was doing, and the moment Fenrir rounded a corner, out of view of the main street, Remus hastened as quickly as he could to catch up to him.
Fenrir was nearly at the other end of the alley by the time he turned the corner, but he was still close enough that Remus could aim his wand at his back. “Give me one good reason,” he said, loud enough for Fenrir to hear, and thinking somewhere in the back of his mind that Sirius would absolutely kill him if he saw what he was doing.
