Time to kick back and relax for the pack was few and far between, so -- when it presented itself -- Fenrir took full advantage of it.
The pack had eaten well that day, there’d been no unexpected visits from the Death Eaters, and no one had been put down. A success if you asked Greyback.
As the fire raged before him, he indulged in Muggle whiskey as he gnawed on what was left of the meat they had obtained earlier.
“Yeah... yeah, ‘course I remember that one.” He laughed as he glanced across the dancing flame at Boris. “The looks on their faces... priceless.”
@leschanceux said --> ❝Shit, are you alive?❞
Whatever spell Fenrir had been hit with had been enough to knock him unconscious for at least a couple seconds. He began to come to as Boris spoke to him, the other wolf’s words garbled sounding to Fenrir’s ears -- as if Boris’ voice was fighting to get through a tinny wave of ringing. He blinked a few times, the spinning woods coming back into focus, Boris’ face hovering near his. Fenrir pat his chest and, with effort and pain, pushed himself up to sitting. “Yeah... ‘m alive.”

Fenrir’s stomach was growling as he sat next to Boris at the scarred, wooden tables in their group home. They were being served slop (or that’s what it looked and tasted like to Fenrir) and he knew he couldn’t survive on it. Especially not this close to the moon.
He leaned in closer to his companion, dropping his voice so as not to arouse suspicion. “Let’s sneak out through the back tonight. I know a place where we can get some real food.”
@xmusiisms:
Despite decades of transformations, Boris had never experienced a moon as potent as this one. Hadn’t even met another wolf who had, since the last had been so long ago. He was unprepared for the way his bones felt too big for his human body, his joints grinding against each other when he moved, the pain of it putting him on edge all day - he’d already snapped at some of the younger wolves for making too much noise.
The appearance of the blood moon promised a good hunt later, though - that was the only positive Boris could see to this lunar torture.
“I just want it to be over.” He answered his alpha’s question truthfully, tired of his aching bones.
There was something about transforming that made Fenrir feel more powerful – the dull ache in his bones, the tugging of his flesh, the heightened senses and insatiable appetite. He knew, in hours, he would be more powerful than any man could ever hope to be, and he took pleasure in it. He knew, however, that most others did not. Most of his fellow wolves did not look forward to the bone breaking, spine curving, skin ripping transformation that would tear them limb from limb and change them into a beast. Being a beast was perfectly fine, but becoming one? That was a different story all together.
He was a bit disappointed in Boris’ answer and let the expression on his face convey that to his omega. “Where’s the fun in that, Boba?”
@leschanceux sent -> 1+🐶 to playfully bite fenrir on the ear
Things have been so difficult and harrowing for so long that the playfulness is often lost. They didn't have a youth and, as adults, have found little time to indulge themselves in moments of carefree leisure. But, at the end of the day, they are friends, and Boris always knows how to read the room, read Fenrir, and react appropriately. So, when Fen feels the nip to his ear, it pulls him from his thoughts and his scowl morphs into a lupine grin before he's leaping up. "Lookin' for a fight, mate?" He asks playfully.
