I adore your work with the gems. Are you gloss coating as well as the typical technique, or doing something else?

Thank you! I decided to throw some gloss coating on after spending half a decade doing the typical gem treatment. This is both to help bring them out (since they’re so large), and to prevent me from rubbing the paint off while I finish. :D

I recently received a series 7 size 1 as a gift - as well as some brush soap, The Masters brand. You familiar with these products? And if so, I'm curious how you go about cleaning your brushes using it. I wanna make sure the brush lasts as long as possible.

Hey, that’s awesome! Good brush, good conditioner. I usually swirl the wet brush in the soap, form a point, let it condition for a few and loosen up any dried paint, and then gently wipe the soap off on a makeup sponge. That size 1 will get you through almost anything, so long as you baby the point.

What's your preferred brand and hair type for brushes?

I use Kolinsky Sable. I’m not sure what my preferred brand is right now, actually. I use a Winsor & Newton Series 7, a Raphael 8404, and a Creative Mark Rhapsody - I like them all. Creative Marks are way less expensive, but sometimes don’t hold up as nicely as the Series 7 or 8404s. I’m about to try a Broken Toad MK2 in a few days, so I’m excited to see how that’ll go.

It’s all good- new X-kit lets you block notifications from certain posts so unless I’m on mobile I don’t even see most of the notifications from any of my annoyingly popular posts- of which there are four or so. One’s north of 150k last I checked. :-/
