i have a warrior in an rp who has mild CH and became a permaqueen! he always loved kits, and he finds that he can be the best warrior by helping raise the next generation instead of stomping around scaring prey. he's happier like this and his clan doesn't look down on him for it! i love him
I love him too! Iām so proud of him!

So I've always wanted to be a vet, but here's the thing... I've heard of people getting surgeries back-to-back and being in the same room for eight hours straight working on animals all day with no breaks. I have hypoglycemia and I have to take snack breaks otherwise I get too shaky and weak and can pass out - would this be something that can be worked around? Like, if someone can take over for a bit or something?
Itās not often done, but multi-hour surgery is uncommon in small animal general practice. A spey will generally take under an hour, and a ācomplicatedā ex lap or even fracture repair would usually be under 3 hours. Most vet clinics are not set up to have a second surgeon swap in outside of university settings with super complicated cases.
I donā know how long your hypoglycemia will let you go without a snack, but if you can go a couple of hours you might be able to work around it by snacking immediately before inducing the patient and immediately after.
Like many things itās about knowing your physical limits and being prepared to put your foot down for the working conditions you require.
