In response to the latest anon: I live in a southern state and I expected to get a lot of backlash upon coming out as trans but people have been surprisingly accepting. I'm not trying to tell you what to do by any means -- just keep in mind people who know you will very likely accept and support you. (And those who don't? Screw 'em.)
