. “Heroes” by @jerometanon . . Where to start... this book encompasses so much. “Heroes” is a book as physically thick and stacked as the lineup of contributors, all females within the snowboard community who have been dedicated to standing sideways and pushing their passion forward. From rails to wedges, ink to acrylic, prose to powder, the pages are full of gems from around the world. . And we haven’t even talked about the photographs yet - @jerometanon shot all photos on a Pentax 6x7 medium format film camera, then etched and painted directly on the negatives before making the silver gelatin prints in the darkroom. No iPhones, no instamax, no RED... just pure, raw film, fumes, and red lights for two years. . This 288 page book is a thing of beauty, with so many facets and figures. An incredible tribute to women who stand sideways, and I couldn’t be more proud to be sandwiched between the hardcovers of this book with so many legends. . Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy for yourself online at @snowboardermag. . Thank you @jerometanon for your thoughtful approach to showcasing the often unseen female figures in snowboarding. Thank you for dedicating a book to women on boards, which can serve an example to the future generation of what a set of ovaries are capable of.
