On our drive from Madrid to Seville, we stopped at Cordoba, not because the journey was long (it was only around a 4 hour bus ride) but because Cordoba was such a pretty city. Old and full of tradition! We were there to see the Cathedral that was a Mosque but it was apparently the only day in the year the Church was closed. You would think that's too bad right? Well, I would beg to differ because it was the day of "Cordoba Feria" or "La Feria de Mayo". Even though we didn't have reservations to enter the fair nor did we have the time to see the night lit sky, we say the entire city alive.
Some women were dressed in traditional Flamenco attire and some had a fancy flower on their head. It just seemed like the day where the entire city and a lot of people from other parts of Spain and the world come to Cordoba. Even though I was really hoping to get to Seville and meet my host mom and move in, this was a great cultural experience.
