Completely pointless head canons (11/?)

The reason Olaf was around Fiona when she was a baby was because Kit and Widdershins are friends, and one time he accompanied her to visit the Captain and his family.

Fiona, though very young, was already obsessed with fungi, and corrected Olaf when he thought fungi were plants. Olaf then decided she’d “appreciate” the thumbtacks that vaguely resembled mushrooms... at least that’s what he said when he was caught. 

Olaf was never allowed back to visit the Widdershins, but he made a lasting impression on Fernald.
