Day Two

I had a borderline unreasonable amount of versions for this prompt. Finished a whole piece with them as old men looking through a photo album before I decided that I didn't like it

Instead I went with this, which actually developed a little 'plot'. ⬇️

It's a story idea I have in my head, where there's someone going around terrorising a random town™(as you do) and leaving photographs behind as little clues. It's supposed to be light-hearted and Roy & Ed make a competition out of who can find them faster and connect the dots sooner. (Maybe Ed challenged him and Roy felt bored enough to use that as an excuse to leave his desk for a change. Not that he needs further incentive to watch Ed in the field 👀). Just a little trip with a co-worker yk,,,

It's just the premise I use to excuse their silly banter and some light action scenes 🙂‍↕️ if I ever write a fic about them it'll probably have something to do with this lol

This went a little further than expected, whoops. Have a lot more thoughts but I should probably stop haha

I just need an excuse to have them work on the same mission and have outsiders comment on how they work together. Set after canon, Ed is maybe like 21?? Al kicks him out of their home cause he feels bad for having worried Ed so much and after all these years together on the road he figures they should probably learn to at least properly function without constantly seeing each other. Ed goes back to being a state alchemist and thus begins the story,,,

Spring Fever day 19: thunderstorm

for this prompt, I decided to illustrate part of my first RoyEd fic.

Ed is just about to open his mouth and deliver a retort about how on Earth Roy could be thinking about eating after the performance he just gave, when the sky opens up and dumps sheets of freezing rain on the city. Everyone outside is instantly soaked to the skin— hairdos flattened and shoes filled with rainwater. Ed can barely see a foot in front of him.

“This way!”

Ed feels a cold hand grip his wrist and pull him forward, making him slip and stumble in a puddle. He hopes Roy is leading them back to his car, but he’s willing to take refuge just about anywhere right now.

Somehow, mercifully, they make it back to the side street where the car is parked. Roy throws open the back door, practically shoving Ed onto the leather bench seat and following after him.

  Summary:

Roy's routine of flirting with service staff for discounts is thrown for a loop when instead of the cute blond bakery girl showing up to pedal her pastries, into his office saunters a cute blond bakery boy. Oh well, a discount is a discount, and Roy only knows one way to get it.

Summary: “Beautiful picture,” Mustang says as he shakes out the second polaroid to hand it over to Ed’s waiting hands the second his vision returns. “I can see why people mistake you for being so young.”

Grabbing it, Ed investigates his own face thoroughly. The timelessly youthful nature that his Stone gives him prevents him from getting any wrinkles, and it keeps his eyes clear and sharp. Ed’s eyes are bright and perceptive when they nail on the camera for the second time, though there’s a small shine on his cheeks from when they started watering the first time. The goldness of his person seems otherworldly, but ephemeral too. Like how a sunset looks—unlasting.
