Fankidtober Day 3: Mercedes!

I actually didn’t finish this until after midnight my time but it is still Oct. 3rd somewhere lol. This is Mercedes my KantoContestShipping daughter (they are my guilty pleasure ship UwU) Mercedes is a contest MC in Kanto and one of my newer fankids I haven’t really had a chance to talk about yet. I love her and went a bit more experimental with her drawing added eyelashes an eyebrows this time.

I like the idea of Festivalshipping. I really do. I just wish that Solidad and Harley actually spoke to one another during the Kanto Grand Festival at least once ;_;

Solidad was around when Max suspects the weird rose May received was from Harley, but she doesn’t mention anything about him. When MC Lilian was starting off the Festival’s introduction, we see May, Solidad and Drew all standing together when Harley moves into frame a bit later in the back. At this time, he’s still hiding the fact that he’s dressed up as May, so I understand that. We don’t learn that Harley and Solidad are familiar with one another until Harley’s first performance, when Solidad points out that they’re old buddies. We see the two again later on, but that’s when Harley continues to tease May and Drew.

In the next episode, Harley is seen off in the distance again while Solidad and May are watching Drew perform with Absol. Harley does compliment Solidad during her round performance later on, which is saying a lot because he rarely praises anyone. The whole situation starts to bother me when May is performing with Munchlax. Both Solidad and Harley make comments about her performance and they acknowledged each other indirectly at least once by now, so why couldn’t they at least talk to one another to show us that they’re friends? ;_;

Now then, we all know Harley tries to interfere with May during contests because he holds grudges, so of course, naturally, he does so during this festival. However, it’s not as bad as his previous ideas in the past. Rather than mess with her performance and battles directly, he’s choosing to try to mess with her mind and feelings. Personally, I would like to believe he chooses to act this way because Solidad is around and that they are indeed friends. Harley isn’t lying or trying to deceive May when he tells her that something is wrong with Drew; he’s being honest, yet sneaky, since he knows such news will worry May. Drew is also a friend to Solidad, so addressing something like that while she is around makes Harley’s concern a bit more believable.

After finding out May and Harley are pitted against each other in the first battle, the drag out with Drew is brought up. We, as an audience, know that Harley was watching the fight, but not the rest of the group. So, I like to think that this is the moment where May realizes that Harley was up to something, but instead of getting angry about it, she lets it slide. Again, I believe Solidad’s presence here in this scene also helped show that Harley wasn’t trying to be too evil with his plans this time around.

Not much happens after that. During the entire battle with Drew and May, Solidad and Harley are watching said battle making comments..in two different places, again. *sigh* Then later on, once Solidad wins the Ribbon Cup, Harley doesn’t even clap for her achievement. Sure, I get that he might not be clapping because he’s still bitter about losing, but they’re still friends, right?

I do think it was creative how they made Harley act this time around in this festival and do enjoy to believe it was because of Solidad, but still, why couldn’t they just have a moment together. Anyways..yeah, just me rambling on about something that’ll always bother me. Unless we see them again.

who decorates the house: Solidad and purposely uses the ugliest stuff ever, Harley once almost had a heart attack on the spot

who hangs up the ornaments on the tree: Harely, Solidad isn’t allowed to touch the tree

who cooks christmas dinner: Neither they order out

who invites the other to sing a christmas duet: Duet? Oh honey Harley flies solo

if they have any holiday traditions: Solidad makes Harley burn his revenge book every year because it’s not in the holiday spirit to keep it. He remakes it every new years

who would start a food fight during baking: Usually Solidad

who would get drunk off of eggnog: Harley of course. He likes his eggnog super strong

Ok so I have been watching some of my favorite Pokemon episodes and I decided that I really need a fanfic or something about May's adventures in Johto and how after going solo for a time, she meets up with and starts traveling with Solidad, Harley, and Drew. They would be so cool and help each other train for more contests, except when Harley would be teasing and a little mean but Solidad would be able to make him be nicer or something. It would be so awesome and have a bunch of contestshipping and festival shipping as cameos and.... Hmmm maybe I should start writing again. I still need to update my other things but I think I can manage it.

This pretty much sums up the household: Drew and May being awkward and adorable, Solidad just chilling out on the sofa and Harley blogging in the background about how much he hates living with Drew and May.
