So here is the next part of our #NOTSLAYER #648, the group caps and probe. For the better part of ten months we had been reaching out to #Slayer about leaks. Their response was always. It’s the gaskets. Once we replaced those at our expense, the local tech told them it was the probe that was leaking. It was leaking for so long that the screws had calcified and the cap has to be drilled out. Once the cap was taken off and we showed them what it was, they then sent over cheapest parts they could send, but kept with the statement that this rust was only cosmetic. Well, we put it all back together with a new group cap magnet and it did not work. After months of trying everything. Another tech suggested we swap from middle group to left group along with the PID. VIOLA! It worked! So, we were right, the rusted out group cap was part of the problem. But months of arguing that this was to be a warranty replacement due to a leaky probe, they agreed. But, as they stated, we were now out of warranty. So they were trying to charge for the fried PID and the group cap. We ordered and paid for a three group and for the majority of 18 months, only two groups worked. After calling them out publicly. They have now sent a new group cap and a refurbished PID. With another PID not working. Two of the PIDs fried due to the leak. A leak due to faulty tubing, assembly and manufacturing. This should all be under warranty. What could have been avoided by sending less than $1k in parts has dragged on for a year pointing the finger at everything else. Days of losing business because a non working machine, and countless hours and headaches spent diagnosing the problem. Again, every machine will have its problem. This a re machines that work 12hr days at high temperatures with high water pressure and various people handling it. But no company has been so horrible at returning phone calls, shipping out parts and getting to the bottom of it as soon as the calls come in. From #Mahlkonig and #Compak to #LaMarzocco and #Fetco. A problem happens, you address it as quickly as possible. People have sent me dozens of private message thanking me for speaking out. What the hell is #slayerespresso? (at Terremoto Coffee)
