Final Fantasy XV TGS 2014 Trailer - so glossy, so shiny, so...wait those aren't all cut scenes!?!?!
Finally got around to checking this trailer out, and I have to say it looks pretty killer. Lets put aside for the moment any CG action that happens in it as we know Square Enix makes crazy good CG trailers/cut scenes, and talk about the pieces of gameplay
Firstly, it looks to be free roaming real time combat! A less structured/rigid combat phase can work really well, and while I have not played the last 2 FF games in any significant manner, this seems to be expanding upon those games. This leads us into our second point. Character interaction within battle. From the brief real time scene's inbetween story elements your character seems to be able to shove off/dodge both enemies and interact/assist team-mates in a more natural way. Granted this could be context sensitive that we are not seeing in this video, but still cool none the less
While clearly still in works, (minus cut scene's) this is still a good looking game and I am finally looking forward to a Final Fantasy game since FFX
