Looking for Connections/RP - Zakuro Kaifu
The Clockwork Dragon
Born to Doman nobility north of Yanxia shortly before the Garlean invasion, Zakuro Kaifu and her sister Sayuri were conscripted into the Imperial ranks at a young age to train at their academies and serve as a hostage to keep clan Kaifu in line. Serving over a decade with the Sixth Legion as an Architectus field engineer, Zakuro finally abandoned the Garlean banner. Now in savage Eorzea she pursues the freedom of adventure and knowledge, putting her affinity for all things mechanical and magitek to work as she reaches for the unknown and beyond!
... now if she could only get used to the smell of horsebird.
Potential Hooks
Magimekanic - Before all else, Zakuro is a mechanic and engineer. Trained in the Garlean legions, she repaired and maintained their airships, war machines, walkers, and weapons. Anything new encountered will be dismantled for study, or at least it’s owner bombarded with questions as she just must figure out how it works. A capable engineer in her own right, she’s built airships and specializes in engines and powerplants, as well as scavenged more than a few Garlean wrecks and battlefields for new materials. Any source of magitek knowledge, materials, or work is in her interest, be it Allagan, Goblin, or Garlean, and she adores talking shop or scouring an Allagan ruin for parts.
ADVENTURE! - Zakuro lives and believes in being bold. Life is too short to hide behind walls or only read about distant, interesting places. An explorer as much as an engineer, she’s quick with her gunblade and always fabulously curious about the strange world around her. Be it outrunning a rocky skyshark in an airship or delving to the depths of abandoned temples, she’s in for it so long as there’s excitement to be had and knowledge to be gained.
Garlemald - Not to avoid the marid in the room, but Zakuro has spent most of her life serving among and alongside Garleans and taking orders from them. There was a time she even believed in the goals of the Empire and she still reflexively swears in Garlean. Indeed, while she served in the Sixth Legion she left she answered to the name “Zakuro jen Kaifu.” With civil war consuming the empire, there’s a real possibility of her being dragged back in.
Doma - While I haven’t really had opportunity to explore this much, Zakuro was raised as a member of the Doman nobility. While her family were only hatamoto rather than daimyo, that’s still part of the aristocracy and they did rule a fief of land north of Yanxia. Her father, brothers and most male members of her family were killed in the Garlean invasion and their valley occupied, with her mother forced to allow the Garleans to park a garrison in what had been Zakuro’s father’s favorite grove. Zakuro, for her part, was conscripted along with her sister at a fairly young age and shipped off to Garlemald. While Zakuro isn’t directly interested in Doma these days, she could be dragged back into that world.
Tea - Tea is serious business. Zakuro is mostly fueled by it.
Looking For:
Creative roleplayers and writers eager to work collaboratively to make interesting stories and arcs and adventures that don’t center around just sitting at the bar. It’s a big world, let’s go exploring!
Friends, rivals, other gearheads, general contacts, suppliers of tea and sweets. I’ve got an RP FC I’m already part of, but I want to expand my social circles and meet new folks. Also, magitek/SCIENCE! RP is fun.
I also really, really love creating headcanons and collaborating on stories and plots.
In short, Zakuro is a steampunk science-adventurer. If that interests you, hit me up.
Not Looking For:
Overly heavy slice of life RP. Like cookies, those are fun sometimes but become tedious when all that ever happens is hanging out and talking about relationships and drink at the bar. I like to get out and run around, go exploring, or go work on projects or stories, even if those are inside.
Pointless ERP. If it happens naturally, cool beans, but not just going to do it for the sake of empty smut.
Nothing non-consensual. We’re collaborative storytellers. I’ve compared good RP to professional wrestling: it’s about making it cool and interesting, not “winning.” And things look coolest when we work together. So yeah, no rape/character death/creepy shit. We’re here to have fun.
STUFF:
Zakuro is my main and I can usually be found poking around the game in the evenings. I can also be reached here or in Discord at Crow#4337. I’m Mateus based but can jump anywhere in Crystal for RP.
Big note: I’m on the US east coast, so that’s EST/GMT-5 time. Like if you want to meet up at 9pm PST, I’ll probably be asleep or already dozing off.

My Elezen Lilia Othello. She’s a Dragoon from Ishgard and I love her.
Perdita Ljanta | Mateus Server | Viera (race) | Final Fantasy XIV
(I made her a long time ago, but I’ve noticed I forgotten or got too lazy to sign into Mateus! This is my 2nd ALT-character I’ve created. I wanted to make another character on a popular server to see the difference of game play/people.)
Come One, Come Y’all, to the Cedarwood County Fair!
The Halcyon Assembly welcomes anyone from the Crystal Datacenter to join us this Sunday, June 23, starting at 2PM EDT, for the first annual Cedarwood County Fair! Held in the sunny, fruiting fields of Lower La Noscea, near Red Rooster Stead, this event is both a fun way to kick off summer and a way to relax before Shadowbringers consumes us utterly drops!
We’ll be hosting a chocobo race (trusty rentals are available from Red Rooster Stead if your character does not have a chocobo!), a pie eating contest, a scavenger hunt, face painting, and a pet judging contest. There will also be a number of merchants, musicians, fortunetellers, and other entertainers for you to enjoy.
Come on down to the countryside and enjoy the best the season has to offer! We hope to see you there! A link to a googledoc detailing the specifics of each event will be posted later on!
((Signal boosting appreciated! @crystalxivrp , @mooglemeet , @mateusrpcalendar . Thanks to everyone from Crystal who has signed up to help us make this event fun!))
Catching Up
It’s been a long time, journal, and there’s much to cover. So much so, that I’ll have to summarize.
First, there’s been the Bluewater Cartel. My plan to pit them in a struggle with the Yellowjackets certainly weakened them, but it also drew their ire more fully upon us. They began by kidnapping staff. We rescued Mrs. Nakiri, though I fear she’ll never be the same, and they killed dear Avgustin. We were in the midst of planning our response when they then kidnapped Miss Mitsu when she went to meditate in La Noscea near Moraby Bay. We quickly summoned who we could and came to her rescue, capturing a Cartel lieutenant and bringing a very battered Mitsu to her own clinic. Luckily for us, Miss Emeline Tousart came to our rescue and treated Mitsu, who’d sustained life-threatening injuries.
