"One good strike…" he murmured to himself as he neared, swords glinting in the sunlight, muscles in his arms coiled to spring and strike once he was close. The beast moved forward towards him and he prepared to dive for the worm's throat until his foot suddenly sank deep into the sand, eyes widening as he felt his center of balance shifting. Trapped in sand to his knee he let out a gasp as he crashed hard onto his chest, swords skittering to the side. Glancing up, he found himself face to mandible with his quarry, the two seemingly having switched places of hunter and prey.
