I sketched out my “version” of rydia while I was working on other illustrations yesterday. Nothing much is different about her besides the fact that she is a mash up of her multiple designs. Bonus funny (bunny) bit with a gullible bun Cecil, this is from a convo I had with my best friend lolol…I’m sorry for making you say that Rosaaaa!
Decided to pick up Pixel Remaster on PSN. I played the DS version of FFIV and really enjoyed it. And I know I could’ve gone back and replayed that. But trophies.
I remember Edge having a huge crush on Rydia (I ship it). And I remember her generally being ‘lol no’ about it. (I still ship it.)
But I don’t remember either his flirting or her not-into-it response being immediate.
But Rydia really goes from ‘please no more death 😭😭😭’ to ‘🥴 idk about this dude’ after experiencing like .4 seconds of his personality.
I don’t care. I love her. I love him. I love them.
A Rough Start

FFIV WEEK 2025:
DAY 2- Near & Far: CROSSOVER, Travel, Home
Slowly going through these for my ffiv week~ I ended up switching up my idea last minute because of me turning my Azura (FE Fates) crossover art into a solo piece. I wanted to do a little redesign for my young Rydia anyway and thought “who should I draw with my little summoner?” , well none other than my baby CELEBI of course!! All the greens reminded me of the original Celebi movie and I wanted to pair them together. I have other reasons why I paired them together but I’ll save that for another day.
Spent a lot of time on it, my "learn how to draw humans damn it" journey is not starting too bad i'd say. It's a kid Rydia from ff4 and her new ice rod (she looks a little tall but despite what video games and anime tell you, 7 years olds are taller than your knees) + something watching in the back... It's not finished at all. I will probably fix something on her face, can't decide if i have a problem with her nose, eyes or mouth. I will color it too in the end. Will probably change the mist + mist dragon a little too. I am not used to digital art and oh boy this line work is crude as hell give my back my smooth pencil. I will have to smooth it up a bit edit : i think she needs a face re-proportion (maybe have the mouth a bit higher among other things) and maybe a little more fat to the cheeks (the dragon's face needs fixing too but that was a last minute addition i didn't really paid it much attention yet)
Progress with my Rydia drawing It's taking me more time that i planned to, it was supposed to be a quick drawing to practice human figure + digital art but i could not help to add even more and more details... oh well... Rydia is nearly finished, i like the brush i am using. I had fun with the irridescent reflection too. Not a big fan of her face (something bothers me) and her hands are maybe a little too big but well.... since i am very unused to drawing humans i think it's not too bad. After the rod i will have to attack the mist + dragon...
