Fferyllt | Dance of Druids (2009)
My Craft: Pheryllt Druidry
I practice Pheryllt Druidry. Although, because of the "credibility" many do not understand this path simply because they have misinterpreted it. So, I am here to teach others about it & dispel the myths about it. The reason why others discredit the validity of Pheryllt Druidry is due to the fact a lot of the information comes from the works of Iolo Morganwg aka Edward Williams, who was known for his historic forgeries. However, there are several things in the Barddas of Iolo Morganwg that are actually historic, therefore linking the Path of the Pheryllt Priesthood to actual historic practices/places. But what these deniers won't tell you is that Modern Druidism in general draws heavily upon the works of Iolo Morganwg and other Druid Revivalist authors. So to discredit our path is to discredit their own. Things that originated in the Book of Pheryllt: /|\ (Awen), the Ogham, the Charms of Making, Calen workings, Druidic Alchemy, Spagyrics, Mistletoe magickal workings, Druid's Cabala/Doctrine of the Spheres, & all Druidic Doctrine. One more thing: in the Mabinogion, Keridwen says that she used "the arts of Fferyllt" to brew her potions. Do you have any idea how old the Mabinogion is? Checkmate 😏
Who are the Pheryllt?
According to legend, the Pheryllt are the legendary Sun-Priests of Pharon who originated in Atlantis, and after the fall of that great civilization washed ashore onto the western banks of Snowdon in Wales. From there we established our ambrosial city called Dinas Emrys. Today, there exists the remains of a circular stone structure right where the myth suggests! Pharon is considered to be an extremely ancient god. However, it's actually spelled "Pharaon" and means "higher powers." Pharaon is really the Dragons! This is why we are associated with fire & why the Welsh Bards have always referred to us as Adders.
What do the Pheryllt practice?
We practice Dragon-Derwydd Alchemy. To use magick, we channel the energy of the Dragon Body (Lightshield + Calen) through the dragon currents (meridians) & channel the power of the dragon lines (ley lines). We use the Charms of Making to manifest, transmute, & animate. (The Charms of Making are acknowledgements of the laws of Nature.) We utilize the Secrets of Skullgate to awaken the powers of the Mind such as psychic abilities & the ability of the subconscious to manifest reality. What makes us Druidic is the fact we call on Awen, work through the secrets of color, celebrate the turn of the seasons ("Albans"), work with natural magick, hold Mistletoe extremely sacred, bend reality via "Green Spells," consider sex to be very sacred, & the fact that we were the first systemizers of the pre-Celtic religion & La Tene culture, from which Druidry sprang. So are we Druids? Yes! Are we Celtic Druids? No! We are Gnostic in belief, particularly Sethian Gnostic. This is why our motto is Y Gwir Yn Erbyn Byd ("The Truth Against the World"). We consider ourselves a part of the Dragon Legacy.
Clearing Up Some Common Misconceptions:
•Douglas Monroe as the Source of Pheryllt Lore: Many people think that Douglas Monroe either pulled our path out of his ass or Iolo Morganwg did. Neither of that is true. Within Pheryllt Druidry we have something called the "Druid's Sleep" in which a Druid can accomplish enhanced longevity by a kind of magickal hibernation. This allows a Druid Master to appear in later centuries when he/she is needed. As such, Master Myrddhin Emrys aka Merlyn is able to directly train his students in Pheryllt Druidry. So no, Monroe is NOT the be all end all of Pheryllt Druidism. Master Merlyn is.
• Joshua Free as the same: Whilst his interpretation is interesting, he is also NOT the be all end all of the Pheryllt. He replaces "Atlantis" with "Mesopotamia" in his interpretations of our origins but this is simply not true. However, I do love some of his stuff. He has the best print copy of the Book of Pheryllt that I've seen.
•Atlantis: Speaking of Atlantis, this in & of itself is misinterpreted in the first place. What people don't know about our origins could fill a library! I'm sure you heard of the Multiverse Theory where multiple universes can exist simultaneously, and we travel through them constantly which creates anomalies where these universes intersect. Atlantis does not exist in this dimension as it has always been a place residing in a higher existence. The Earth was not always solid like it is now. Before we fell, we existed at a much higher frequency & therefore were pure energy. Think of it like an afterlife where the soul departs the physical body. Except instead of dying you were never physical in the first place but instead were always a spirit. Atlantis isn't a myth, but a Legend. You won't understand this connection unless you study the similarities between Druidry & Hinduism.
•The Pumpkin Thing: In 21 Lessons of Merlyn by Douglas Monroe, there is a small section talking about how the Druids used carved heads made out of gourds or other things in necromantic type rituals, such as the festival of Samhain. People has always misinterpret Monroe when he said "today, we use pumpkins" as "Ancient Druids used pumpkins." Even Monroe admits that's false.
•Myrddhin Emrys: Master Myrddhin Emrys Wyllt is a legendary figure. We of the Pheryllt Druid Priesthood hold that he is a real person & is just sleeping until we call upon him. How? We suggest the Epitaph from the Stanzas of the Graves written in Englynion y Beddau to summon Him. However, there is more than one way to do this despite what Monroe says.
•Use of Toxic Herbs: There are DOZENS of Traditional Witchcraft practices that incorporate poisonous plants. Why is this so strange that we Pheryllt Druids use toxic herbs in our spells & rituals? We know that Mistletoe, Datura, Belladonna, Nightshade, &tc are toxic. Does it matter? No! It's not like we just use the herbs without caution. We take care to not poison ourselves or others. You CAN burn toxic herbs without dying, y'know. Everything in moderation.
•The Charm of Making: MANY people criticize the Charm of making saying it is only in movies & isn't a real spell. However, I am living evidence this is not true. The Charm of Making is set of 3 very real spells written in archaic Old Irish, Welsh, & Old English, & further written phonetically to hide their true meanings from nonPheryllt/anti-Pheryllt Celtic Druids. However, they are written in the Book of Pheryllt, the Draconomicon, & other books about Dragon Magick & Pheryllt Alchemy if you are interested in proper translations. The original was found on ancient Ogham inscriptions & will only work for someone initiated into the Pheryllt Priesthood. The Third Charm of Making is only available to someone who has been initiated (not made publically available).
•The Real Meaning of the word "Fferyllt": No, it does not mean "Virgil." If you translate it from Old Brythonic & Welsh it means Alchemy & Pharmacy. It refers to the marriage of the Masculine to the Feminine of Nature - the Solar Current to the Telluric Current - the Quicksilver to the Sulfur - the Mind to the Heart. The transmutation of matter into energy & vice versa. Pharmacy comes from the Greek pharmaekia & means "poison" as well as "sorcery." The poison refers to the mixing together of potions. Potioncraft/Spagyric Alchemy is the central point of Alchemy, and therefore the central tenet of Pheryllt Druidry. The Pheryllt are "Fireworkers" & refers to all dealing with Fire. This includes Metallurgy, Potioncraft (Cauldron Lore), cooking, & burning herbs. What people won't tell you is that Fire refers only to Dragon Fire, which is true power. It really refers to the Serpent Power that flows up the spine during orgasm, meditation, &tc. Or to put it into Pheryllt terminology, "the Adder." This is ancient Egyptian knowledge (Djed/Sekhem), Tantric knowledge, and is also the knowledge of the Pheryllt Druids. We all came from the same place.

Day 7, the final day, of BAGPIPE METAL WEEK!
*snort* Honestly, probably wont ever listen to most of these bands again, but still, a really intriguing look at instruments, and how well something like a bagpipe can work in a genre dominated by distorted guitars.
