im just arriving at endwalker so be nice to me on this post but spoilers:

for Synnova's Azem unsundered, i was thinking about imagery related to slavic folklore. there is a figure sometimes called "zorya" or "zaria" who has many facets and is sometimes depicted in double or triplicate. also a dawn/dusk symbol and a protector of travellers. so i think we're going with an alternate spelling, Zorja, for Azem's name.

guys I finally made my goshdarned Azem for my WoL

Meet Metis:

They're a wildly smart and cunning Ancient (as their name implies) and love breaking the norms. Constantly will they change their appearance and robes slightly (which ALWAYS gives Emet a heart attack and nightmares about what Metis might dream up next) because they LOVE to create and accessorize. And like I mentioned earlier, they hate the idea of conformity that the star has taken upon itself, so they break down their norms constantly. That led to much streetside ridicule, but they were chosen for the Convocation for their undeniable intelligence, inherent connections they make with people in moments, and deep mental flexibility.

What if Azem deliberately chose not to become Unsundered? 🤔 Perhaps they wanted their soul to be scattered across the shards, allowing them to exist in many worlds rather than just one. In that sense, the Warrior of Light could be one of many fragments of Azem, each experiencing the world in their own way. Maybe this was Azem’s way of defying the Convocation and its ideals...

I suddenly had an idea of drawing my Azem, Thalos, to be spawn like how Fray does. Also an excuse to draw my Azem more cryptic being.
