Emet-Selch's reasonable crash out.
death's call
A Phantom of the Past
I love Emet-Selch's relationship with the WoL so much because he has the dead spouse tragic backstory of why he's like this but YOU are the dead spouse reincarnated into a furry and he hates how much Azem would have wanted that.
~Symphony of the Past~
Inspired by the Scions symphony painting, I have to do one for my beloved ancients T_T
The wol and Azem's sun-coding might seem generic at first glance, until you notice that the sun hangs alone in the sky, it's perpetually on fire, but it's a "good" thing because that light and warmth sustains life, as long as the sun stays at a distance from said life, of course. It can't have life on its own surface, and anyone foolish enough to try and get closer will burn.
Raha is Icarus-coded, but also he manages to actually get closer to the sun with this one "simple" trick: he becomes a sun himself.
Hades is the Earth, being host to the myriad wonders of life, but relying on the light of sun and moon (Azem and Hythlodaeus) to sustain him. It's always been like this. Then both sun and moon disappear, leaving Earth to drown in the darkness, grow cold and die. That's Emet-Selch.
Thy life is a riddle, to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen, to suffer, to entrust unto tomorrow
