How to participate:

If you want to join the wedding itself:

Create a free trial account for FFXIV at: https://freetrial.finalfantasyxiv.com/na/  (If you already have an FFXIV account, obviously you can skip this step)

Create a character on the Twintania server, on the Light data center, in the EU region. You must do this even if you have an account already unless you already have a character there; characters MUST be on the same server to participate in an Eternal Bonding ceremony.

Make sure your characters start in GRIDANIA. This means you will need to start as a Conjurer, Lancer, or Archer.

If you can contact myself or Kian (https://selene-ffxiv.tumblr.com/) ahead of time (via here on Tumblr, on Discord, or whatever), great! We’ll help you get set up; we’ll need to add you to one of our friend’s lists and then send you an invitation. If not, we’ll have an organization meeting at the Carline Canopy (the inn) in Gridania one hour before the ceremony starts, so we can get you an invitation and ferry you to the chapel. We can also provide you with a basic tuxedo or dress!

RECEPTION

Reception will be at Aquarium Sophia on the Materia data center immediately following the wedding. This is so that people who already play the game can bring their main characters with all their lovely outfits and such. But don't fret! Even if you're brand new on the free trial, you can still come. The link above has instructions on how to get there and we'll be happy to ferry you.

As for how to visit the Materia data center, my friend Melodic wrote up some instructions to make it easy:

If you have never been to the Materia data center before: The game will not immediately let you take a character and DC travel to Materia. It acts as though there's no road to get there. To build the "road" to Materia for your existing characters, you will need to first take your game client to Materia.

From the main game screen, click on "Data Center"

When the world map appears, click on "Oceanian Data Center", then click Proceed.

At this point, the game will connect you to the Materia DC as though you are going to create a new character.

Congratulations! You have taught your game client how to find the Materia DC, and you can now go back to your existing characters to DC travel them over to Materia and select the world Sophia. Further note: If you've done this before, you *might* need to do it a second time. Just be aware of error messages.

Just had my ffxiv wedding with my fiance and I think that is pretty cool,,,,,,,, It was super fun and we had a bunch of friends attend with us! Highly recommend people to host/attend a ffxiv wedding!!!
